First signs of rehabilitation..?

I mean it’s the mirror. Okay.

why are they trying to sell this like someone died or some terrible tragedy has occurred. “Support him” etc. he tried to leave.Failed miserably. Been a dick about it. And he wants sympathy and a cuddle. Fuck me. Stand up for yourself man. Don’t play the victim. You and your single digit iq brother did this, to yourselves. Take your medicine.

Japhet getting the 'One of our own' chant was fantastic in the ground - I don't know if that came across that loud on the TV. I noticed that the Are you watching Harry Kane? was totally edited out on MOTD2 coverage although it was deafening inside the stadium.
At the time you could just about hear it but the commentary team were waffling over it. I said to Mrs Rooster "I'm sure they are singing Are You Watching Harry Kane?" We wound it back and had good laugh. The great thing is hearing the Sky team when they are there always say how superb the stadium is and how great our support is. My Daughter, her husband and our grand kids went today for the stadium tour and loved every second of it.

That very well could be. it could also be that the players are all in for the team and think they are better with Harry rather than without. I wouldn't be surprised if they would control their own egos for the sake of the team. Or at least to give him enough rope to hang himself with

They ain't getting Haaland, no English club will. That's another Dortmund prove Bundesliga is one club thing. He's joining Nagglesmann at Bayern.
I think they’ll get Kane this year and then still go out and sign Haaland. I don’t think Bayern can afford him or will be able to get him on the normal discount.

Ultimately, City match Levy's valuation and he goes, or they don't and he stays. Pressure must be through the roof for City management after three straight games without a goal. For Kane, he is not new to Spurs. Levy's M.O. is well known.

If he does not go, he will be professional and he will give what he has. Of that, I have no doubt. He wants to win things. Again, of that, I have no doubt. While I do not like the way things have been communicated, I do not begrudge him wanting to go. When/if it does not work, it is time for him to buckle down and do all he can to see Spurs succeed. And, so long as the effort and desire is there, Spurs fans need to continue to support him 100%. Seeing how Tanganga stepped it up and made Nuno take notice, I have no doubt, if Kane does the same, he will again be the first player on the game sheet.

in that same vein, how poor is the effort or application that Ndombele is bringing? Pochettino - unimpressed. Mourinho - unimpressed. Nuno - unimpressed. At some point, what is reflected in the mirror is real.

Does Kane not question how much City actually want him? It doesn't seem they are that overly interested.
Of course they want him, but they like us want best value.
For example I really want a kebab right now, fucked if im paying 50 quid to only kebab shop that's currentlt I'll wait til tommorrow

If money wasn't an issue (like if you were filthy rich with oil money) and you really needed that kebab to get through your day (like city need Kane), would you pay up 50 quid?

I think a lot of people would. I would.

Lesson is City should just pay up, as they can afford it and need him, or just piss off.

For anyone that mentions FFP, it is the biggest myth in sport imho.

It just occurred to me that if I had to describe what sort of player Harry Kane is I’d have to say he’s a cross between De Bruyne and Lewandowski. Then it occurred to me that you can’t really put a value on that. I’d welcome him back to the team with open arms.

Imagine being one of the key decision makers at City?

You are one of the richest clubs in the world who desperately need a striker. One of the best ever strikers in the history of your league wants to come to your club. You apparently know what you have to pay to get him. Plus you lose your 1st game. Yet nothing.

This will be extremely embarrassing if they don't end up with him (or someone similar) imo.

That is also the reason I would tell them to pay what we want (£160mio) by the end of this week or get stuffed. Ball is your court City.

Bit disappointed we have given them until the end of the week. We have two games in that period. We need get on with our season.
I like your thinking.

Let's give them until midnight tonight or no deal.

While my point is a tiny bit tounge in cheek, I am also being quite serious. City have had long enough to pay what we want. Not our problem they can't get their shit in order.

IF he does stay, let’s get a proper decent striker in this summer so that we are at least prepared for when he does eventually jump ship.

(yes, I realise that kind of thinking is so realistically obvious that it barely needs saying, but yet, here we are. Of course it should be the plan, and if isn’t then frankly that is fucking worrying.)

Literally what are City waiting for. They’ve just lost their first game they obviously need a striker. They know the price, they know we don’t “ have” to sell so waiting till last days makes it less likely not more. They have the money. Imo if they really want him it would be done. City don’t really get into this sort of situations. Last time I remember something like this was Sanchez from Arsenal and they just backed out.

In my head he’s still gone snd I can see city bidding 150m by the end of the week. I think the club knows this aswell hence why total social media blackout on both Spurs official and Kane.

Perhaps they fear having to pay a significant premium also for future signings if they cave in to our demands.

Not sure we are asking for a "significant premium". His statistics, his contract with us, the homegrown factor, and the fact we are both in the premier league means 160mio is fair imo.

However if they don't "cave in to our demands", he stays with us.

Simple.

I think the city game showed one thing, 3 pacy attackers and we can breach defences without a long ball. Kane is phenomenal but he needs to pick a role otherwise team set up struggles a bit in 1 up top formation. If he is the focal point of attack he can't be on the halfway line to receive the ball.

I bet they're thinking they can get by without for another season again, and then just chuck half a mill in wages at Haaland next summer.
