Been thinking a lot about the early days of Poch.

Group of veterans who thought they were better than the club. Creating cliques and bringing a bad stink to the overall group.

Several younger players led by Mason and Kane essentially telling them to fuck off (allegedly)

Oh how the tables have turned!

Apparently today is the deadline so while there is still a chance you’d think something would have confirmed by now.

There is no dateline day

If they offer the right amount the little midget will take it ..probably Jesus on loan as a replacement

Excuses given will be..its impossible to keep a unhappy player...hecwill damage dressing room morale etc

I understand that he's messed up his legacy and how some might now not want him to hold those type of records, but if you had the choice between him scoring 35 in the league on the way towards that record and we're back in the CL, or he has a mare, scores 15, nobody picks up the slack and we end up in the Conference or worse, which do you choose? Because for me only one of those options is good for the club.

I think he’s about 45 or so short.
Let him fall 1 short next year and be there for the dedication of the ‘Jimmy Greaves Stand’ at the end of the season.

"So has his decision not to travel to Portugal for tonight’s Europa Conference League play-off against Paços de Ferreira because he is focusing on regaining fitness." - Times

The conference game was like a preseason game, to get players up to speed. No-one was particularly fit. So kane wouldn't really be excused on those grounds.
It seems likely that he just refused to play. Again.

We hear he is training well and assume that he'll play a part against wolves, but it may be he is just training for the england qualifiers and is 'on strike'.
It does put southgate and the FA in a tricky position, as they'll be seen to be endorsing kane's disgusting position if they select him and the sale hasn't gone through.

Kane's legacy will not be harmed, either way, so long as he continues on the pitch, around the team, and in the National setup in the same fashion as he has.

He is a professional getting poor advice from his representatives. Textbook lesson on how not to do things.

If he stays, he'll put his head down and get to work. Would not bet against a 4th Golden boot and another top assist maker. His game has evolved. He and Son are miles better than he and Sterling ever will be.

I hope that he stays and helps us get Champion's League and some Silverware. If he leaves, happy to see Spurs get in their way for every cup.

Will be so overjoyed if Kane stays, just for the fact it is two fingers in the face of City and what they and all other shitbag clubs like them represent and delighted it will be us who have done it. On top of that we keep the leagues leading scorer and assist maker, which might not be to everyone's taste, but with options to replace drying up daily then perhaps the best option on the table for the club for now.

I enjoy your post immensely but have to differ with you on whether his legacy has been damaged. It clearly has been damaged and the question is is how much of it can be recovered. He is a phenomenal player and we were lucky to have him as part of our team.

The question is how much of it can be recovered. Personally I think he can still do things which bring people back into his corner but I would also think a sizable percentage of individuals will never hold him in the esteem they used to.

I would also agree that he will continue to produce at levels that few can replicate in the league because of his ambition and drive. But legacy is a function of the observer more than it is of the player.

If City want to win the PL, and more so the CL, they would need to get a top level striker in during this window.

Let’s see how desperate they are in the next few days.

Hopefully not to desperate. We’re already short and if Kane goes we’re going to need 2 or 3 top class replacements and we all know that isn’t happening as there just isn’t time.

If City pays the fee that we’d want, I think we will get Vlahovic in. Fiorentina will accept the bid as his value would drop next summer and they also have striker cover already.

We’re going to need Harry’s assists.

I think you might be confusing legacy with reputation so i'm not sure about 'clearly'. For me, his legacy (number of goals) is in the bank. It's his reputation that's taking the hit.

And as you say, that could be repaired.
