Is it possible the injury was only a slight ligament strain but the club made it sound worse in order to take the pressure off the player's return to action?

Not really sure why it'd be necessary to do that but if he is back for the second leg then there can't have been 'significant damage' to the ligament. No way would he be back so soon.

Come on, let’s not do this. The 2nd leg is only 9 days away. There’s no way even Kane can go from a “little bit of running inside” to being able to play a part in a CL semi final in 9 days.

I have no idea about the science behind ligament damage, all I know is that Bale looked out for the season after his ligament injury vs Basel but thanks to Charlie Adam and Blackpool he was back much sooner as the ligament has already been done once before.

If my memory serves, Kane had injured one foot in earlier seasons but the injury vs United was his other foot and then vs City he injured the foot which had been done a couple of seasons ago. So I reckon there's something in there that he can recover sooner.

No chance he makes the second leg. Maybe a bench appearance for the Everton game?
Even then what is the point, if we have top 4 sorted by then, no need to risk. Let him properly recover.

Said when it happened “Significant” is just a term used for a grade 2 strain. From which recovery can be 4 weeks. He’s currently just coming up to 3 weeks. When it says “severe” that’s when you need to worry.

It’s accurate to say that a second ligament strain to the same ankle (generally) means a quicker recovery.
But he won’t be available unless we make the final. Should that happen, I think he’ll definitely be in the squad.

Off the bench for the last 15-20 minutes if we need a goal or someone to help keep the ball high up the field?

Just some irrelevant doctor giving an opinion who’s never meet Kane in his life. Honestly don’t believe his history had much to do with that injury. I think any player that suffered that impact would have been in trouble. It’s not like these injuries really happen because of an obvious weakness. It’s not like he is running then suddenly goes over on his ankle. Virtually all of them happen from a nasty clash or tackle. The fact he’s back usually after 4-6 weeks shows an operation is not needed and is always a last resort.
You're a doctor?

Tbh the fact he's bending on it is a really positive sign.

I'd say it'll be close for the 2nd leg...maybe the bench. Everyone including Harry will be doing everything they can to ensure he's fit if it's possible.

We put it a date on it last time, and how much quicker was he back?

No date given this time.

The only problem is that we tend to bring him back too early so I'm not sure if I trust our definition of "ready" anymore. Having him back has to be a bonus though.

It's not about us bringing him back too early, Harry will want to play.

You think they would risk an asset like that over short term interests? I think not...there'll be plenty of tests.

If he's deemed fit, he'll play.

Knowing him he will be so desperate to play that I suspect he’ll take a few pain killing injections to play each game.
