This is Kane’s peak sale value. Either he commits for life and dies à Spurs legend or, more realistically, we sell for a good price this summer. £150m+ (or equivalent with players thrown in) and I think we’ve got to accept.

Worst outcome for me is an uneasy truce where he stays a year and goes for less next year.

Kane has been our best player for 5 years now but I have been uneasy for a few years now about his status - he’s almost bigger than the club. No one should waltz into the starting XI half fit.

If this was a neutral player we’d see it as standard.

He worked hard and got into the team. He started scoring regularly and became one of the best in the world. We didn’t quite reach the top and the manager was fired.

Then the next manager didn’t work out. He is now 28 and considered by many as the best striker in the world. His club just finished 7th.

If a player in those circumstances wanted out at a different club wanted out we’d not think anything of it.

Would be more surprising if he wanted to stay.

Vlahovic as Kane's replacement would be an insane risk to take. He's got one very impressive season under his belt, but there's no guarantee that he could keep it up playing for a new team in a new league, with the pressure of replacing one of the world's best on his shoulders.

I’d already pretty much accepted that H will go… been a great player for us… I’m also excited by the prospect of spending monies on fresh players that aid the whole team/squad, and those that Nuno wants. Rebuilds & change always contain some pain; but there’s also the prospect of new challenges and possible delights to come. As another said: the world keeps turning.

I want him to win something, I really do, and if he has to go elsewhere to have something to show for his talent, then so be it. I'm always going to be pissed over it though because it should have been avoidable.

If Kane does stay for 1 more year he could be only something like 20 goals off our all time top scorer. If we’ve had a decent season surely that would play on his mind? Yes I’m clutching here.

I would hope we sign Vlahovic + Ings (or experienced equivalent). That way it takes the pressure off the former to perform from the off.

I still don't really understand why City would pay £150m+ for Kane when Haaland or Mbappe represent a far better long-term investment, personally.

Is it a challenge though I think its nothing short of a miracle for us to win something
My point was that staying with us would be the challenge - I don’t think jumping ship to go to a club which is guaranteed to win trophies (with or without him) is a challenge. I think it’s the easy option and a cheap way to ‘win’ medals.

Bale refused to train and we treated him like a god when he returned.

Kane is a legend. And in time those of you who refuse to believe it now due to your emotions will see him number 2 in the goalscoring charts for the club (and his England record getting to a WC semi and Euros final) and realise he is a legend.
I’ll meet you back here in 5 years’ time and see if I consider him a legend by then ?

I’d honestly love it (cue Kevin Keegan gifs) if we took the Kane money and went all-in for Haaland - and I mean ‘all in’.

Caveat - of course I know we won’t, but the sheer mischief of it amuses me.
