Bah, that's not right at all.

Lets get this right. Levy has masterminded a fall of epic proportions. That's one thing. Kane is acting the ****. that's another. These are separate yet very much linked. How Kane is acting is very much down to him. Why the situation has even occurred in the first place is down to Levy. Two separate things. So if sticking the boot into Kane for how he's acting is your thing, that's fine. If rewinding and saying Levy is the architect, surely that's also fine. Doing that isn't ignoring what Kane is doing.

I honestly believe that Kane, a player who has never once rocked the boat and has, up until now shown nothing but the greatest respect and loyalty to the club is acting so against type that there's more to it than being badly advised by his yokel brother. There's something else, fuck knows what but I honestly think there's a lot more to this than we know. There usually is.

Personally I think the progress/ambition/eye off the ball thing, a combination of it all is a large part of it, so yeah, i'll have a pop at Willow about that if that's OK with you all :D
Absolutely bang on the money.

I think it's safe to say most of us agreed with him to a degree, things were shambolic by the end of last season and our fanbase was growing hostile and frustrated. However, it's not so much what he said, it was the timing. Doing such an interview in the last couple of weeks of the season was irresponsible while top 4-5 were still mathematically viable (though at that point we had a mountain to climb for top 4). He could have waited to do interviews like that during the Euros prep or after the Euros and I'm sure, while it would have still left a bitter taste in our mouths, it wouldn't have been as damaging.

Ziggy (and @BedfordshireSpud and @Stamford)

Looks like i have to eat my words :(
I honestly thought he'd turn up for training today but having read a shitload of informative posts, news articles and quotes - it really does look like he's had a serious hand in orchestrating this move.
As a massive Harry Kane fan, i'm simply gutted! :(:(

Because you run the risk of keeping a player who becomes extremely disgruntled and worth a lot less than he is now, plus you end up paying his salary.

He is only worth what we are willing to accept. If he wants to go to City then they need to pay what we value him at. If not then he should get back to work and do his job. Something he is paid very well to do.

Whether Kane stays or goes, we need another striker in. I hope we get moving with that very soon. If we're scratching around on deadline day for a striker it will be a disaster.

And people wonder why there’s no response from the club. Levy is sitting back and letting Kane make all the mistakes. Then when he sells him to Man City, for a record fee, he’ll tell you he’s sad. And we’ll move on to the next one.

Looks like the start of backtracking to me. I bet he doesn't like people laying into him in the media one bit.

As soon as ex-pros like Carragher started chastising this I did wonder if he'd be able to keep this strike thing going.
