If Kane focusses and hits the ground running he could win a title, FA Cup, Euro third rate cup, League cup for Spurs and then the World Cup in the next year. It might be like buses.

What do you think they should have said?
Absolutely nothing, which is exactly what they’ve done. Anything else could’ve prejudiced the Club’s position contractually.

If they had gone public criticising Kane, he may have reasonable just cause to buy out of his contract. If they had agreed publicly with his statement yesterday that his planned return was always going to be this week, whether true or not, then it would put them in a tenuous position if they had in fact already fined him two weeks wages as alleged, as Kane may then have grounds for dispute i.e. “why did you fine me when you have said publicly that I was due to return to training this week?”

Anyone who reads these sorts of forums and threads regularly will know that Levy always has his price. If you meet it he sells, if you don’t then he won’t. It’s as simple as that. And that will just as likely apply to the Club as a whole and not just any one player. If there is in fact an informal agreement with Kane, then I should imagine that it wouldve been along those lines and nothing more.

Kane‘s statement should’ve come the moment last season ended. If he had said “I want to leave because I feel that the Club no longer match my ambitions. If the Club gets an acceptable offer I will leave, but until such a time as an offer is agreed I will stay, train and give 100%” then I don’t think anyone could then begrudge a move away. We could argue whether or not the Club had provided opportunities, but his integrity and reputation would remain.

If I were Levy I’d be going full on PsiOps on this motherfucker.

“Oh sorry Harry, the phones are down, and the wifi.“
”Oh you’ve got no phone signal either? That’s weird, no I’ve never heard of an RF blocker.”

Reckon he will play the Simone Biles card soon, say he needed the extra week to get his ‘head right’.

That’s in poor taste IMO. Athlete at the top of their game need to maintain mental strength and if he goes down that route he’s sending signals out the the England team that he’s not the player he was.

Telling line from Matt Law's piece.

"Some players and staff at Spurs are thought to have been left baffled by Kane’s statement."

He's been on the money with Spurs this summer. Particularly during the Euros that that he'd told England team mates he was planning to refuse to train.

You can imagine the England players will be laughing at him behind his back.

He has run a lorry straight through his reputation

Now that he seems to be hated, I can finally get something off my chest. The nickname "H" is cringe and I hate it.
I saw it written down as "Aitch" the other day. It's one letter ffs, you don't need to write it phonetically. :cautious:

Dragon1 on COYS:
much as Harrys behavior is atrocious today this is on levy

he took club from 2nd position to 7th in 3 years , from a cl final to Europes third tier comp

refusing to back posh in summers of 17 and 18 then the disastrous posh / Jose switch

grealish should have been a spurs player for 25 million

contrary to reports that city would not include Sancho in the walker deal they are false we would not pay Sancho the wages he wanted, those were two huge errors

we are in this place because of levy horrific footballing decisions , no other CEO/MD would have lasted through this episode of vast incompetency
