There have been preliminary clear the air talks he insists he was back sat not Monday and we gave permission which we did not

we withdrew the fine in the hope of improving relations

it’s been made very clear to H that he is under contract and the city offer of 100 or the players we were offered was not even a conversation starter And he needs to show the club and the fans more respect

Maybe it was gentleman's agreement...?

Curious as to what all of the stories were about then, with him apparently not intending to return to the club and that he's making a stand over this gentleman's agreement, and then the whole world and their dog coming out and saying it's a shit look for him.

And suddenly then it was just a short protest and blown out of proportion. And now...what do you mean, you agreed to it?!

Messaging coming out of his camp is awful. Fair play to the club for keeping quiet and letting him squirm his way out of it. If nothing else it shows how much sway he thinks that he has with the club that he can pull this shit. Too much. Welp, he's blown his hand now if he ends up having to stay, as he'll not have half of the authority that he had before, and I doubt that his new boss Fab has much time for this type of player drama.

Because that's how real business is conducted. You only get leaks to the press after shits hit the fan and you're desperate. As the opening gambit from Charlie that was a rookie mistake. He doesn't know what he's doing and it shows.

What would ENIC gain from telling their side and ruining Kane's reputation further? Devaluing an asset they need to either bring back into the fold or sell for as much as possible. It'd be stupid to do anything in public.

Plus the optics have greatly improved for the club, anger is being directed towards Kane due to his actions where as prior, there was more a feeling of anger towards the club for how we got to the point of where Kane felt he needs to move on.

Sounds like he still won't accept he has done anything wrong.

We always talk about managers loosing the dressing room, Kane has certainly alienated himself from the rest of the squad. Hope they all give him the cold shoulder.

Even if HK's story is to be believed, it would soon have been unravelled on Monday morning:

Club: HK, where are you?
HK: Florida, why?
Club: You're late for training
HK: I thought i was meant to be back on Saturday
Club: No, today.
HK, Really sorry must be some confusion
Club: ok, we'll handle the press who are going to think you have gone on strike.
HK, Thanks and sorry again.

Everyone seems to be glossing over the fact that he’s effectively had even longer off due to the isolation.

In any other job, you factor that quarantining in to your vacation so you can be back at work when you’re meant to be.

It’s taking the piss even more to not only extend his holiday but then go somewhere that he needs to quarantine from when he returns.

I'd love to believe that Enic have a real clue about how business is conducted. History shows us they are clueless. We are building a stadium. 2011. We are building a stadium. 2014. We are building a stadium. No we are going to Stratford. 2015. We are building a stadium. 2016. Those plans are rubbish! We need a cheese room and an nfl stadium too. But we only get concessions on hot dogs. Let's just stay in Wembley for 2 years. Ees normal. 2 year over run. Over twice original financials. But we bought cranes! Seriously. If these guys are the pinnacle.... Johnson could probably have delivered a stadium and that's the level of incompetence we are talking about, the same stadium at the same billion pound price. All financed on us. Literally. I believe even Boris Johnson could have built our stadium with the same budget levy had.

Scary. And Levy is a genius business man?

It stands in stark contrast to players who came in not only on time, but early, and were working their nuts off against the scum this afternoon and giving an interview afterwards that makes you think we should strip the vice captaincy from the incumbent and give it to them instead.

I just hope we get the money in tout suite and it's spent correctly. Pierre seems a natural captain. We have a chance to rebuild on kanes money. Just hope it's kept well out of levys hands.

Your disdain for Levy and Enic is getting really tedious. Do you have any other views?

The only way back for him IMO is for him to agree that he did want away because the lack of development in the squad over the last 2 or 3 years did not meet his aspirations.

However he has sat down withe the powers that be, and can see that the structure in place and the signings we are making has given him the confidence that he can achieve his goals as a footballer and is happy to move forward and give his all to the club.

Recognise, apologise and move forward.

Oh and for good measure sack the shit of a brother and get a new agent.

He didn't just not turn up for training though did he. We were actively negotiating with Madrid at the time.
I mentioned earlier in the thread that there comes a point where you just cant face it anymore in the job, role, company you are in. Youre worn out and need something different to get out of that headspace. Its not being apologetic because how he has gone about it is extremely poor and no going back as far as im concerned but also understand where it comes a point that you need soemthign different because youre worn out.

I can understand that, I went through far worse last year. Working 15 hour days without breaks, suffering with depression & anxiety & worried for my family because be my brother in law had been sectioned after trying to top himself. I handed in my notice to be with my family, was on minimum wage. I'm sympathetic to a point but...he wants to win trophies. Big fucking deal. If he's that sensitive, good luck to him if something really bad happens...

PSG getting Messi might certainly devalue/make more unlikely any bonus that City might offer as part of the Kane deal for winning the Champions League.

Which you could argue is City not backing themselves to win that competition.
Which is partly why Kane wants to go there.

If that were to be a bonus clause in his contract, and City were hesitant about it and if you were were astute enough to read between the lines, could you argue that they don’t think Kane arriving will improve their chances of winning the CL.
There was me thinking he wanted to play for an ambitious club…

I realise that I have sort of turned this post on its head, but I think it makes sense this way, too.

If Spurs were to accept such a clause, given a potential arrival of Mr Messi at PSG, it could possibly be a bit foolhardy.

But. Again. City may offer that knowing that their chances are slimmer than they otherwise would have been. Meaning they will pay less bunse overall.
Which still makes you question their ambition somewhat. “We’re going to offer this clause because we think it’s unrealistic.”

Given the recent news, it may be that some of the instructions have been given by the Don rather than Levy.
I don’t believe Paratici would have the same level of empathy or leniency towards Kane that say, Levy would.

It’s reasonable to suggest that Paratici has no emotional tie to Kane at all, therefore Kane is now actually being held responsible for the ramifications of his actions.
