Scored his 9th header in the league this season

The most since Duncan Ferguson

Left foot, right foot, headers, assists

Harry Kane, papering over the cracks since about 2019

I’ve got a Leicester fan in a What’sApp group arguing Conte’s comments about selfish players were directed specifically at Kane and suggesting we need to get rid like Ten Haag did with Ronaldo at Utd.

It’s a bold take. Leicester fans really do hate him.

Edit: I’ve also just found out they really don’t like it if you point out how much they hate him.

Harry isn't selfish, but he isn't a leader.
Yesterday when he scored, it was a massive goal, our fans all packed right behind the goal he scored, I think it would have been nice for him to celebrate with them and get all the team pumped up together in that corner, instead of just running away from them and celebrating alone in front of the soton corner.
Little things like that show leadership imo, pumping the fans up and being as one.
Same when Persic scored, as captain Harry should of instigated this too.
Newcastle Friday night was an example of the way they celebrated with their fans.
I may sound picky, but we never see that passion from Harry, maybe that's why he gives the impression he maybe selfish, which I don't believe he is.

I think Harry has checked out tbh, he hasn't looked happy for a while. He’ll end up and another prem club and get the all time record with them while probably winning something. I kind of want that for him as well, despite how much it’ll hurt for us to see.

I mean He had 4 opportunities to lay in a team mate yesterday and decided to try and shoot himself.

I do think Kane cares more about himself than he does the club.

I’ve never got the impression he loves us but maybe that because he’s out grown us years ago

As long as we get good money for him, I would be fine with him leaving. He has done all that he can (or will) here and the club needs money to rebuild under a new manager.

It's going to be a huge wrench to lose him, but it will be even worse if he goes for nothing and we are scrambling around for a bosman replacement.

I hate singing about players because ultimately theyre all pros and you cant expect them to care about the club in the same way you do. Why glorify them and pretty much adulate them by singing their names in a stadium when they will leave and not give a damn. Lets not be hypocritical here, the club does the same thing, they get rid when they want... we sell players even if the player cares about the club.

That said, Kane is Kane, he needs to be selfish at the moment and if he aint going to win trophies here, then the thing he will live by is goals.

That second half chance before his goal was hugely selfish and really wild. I dont know if Conte was alluding to that when he was talking about players being selfish.

We will just waste any money we get for him anyway.

Yeah I do adore Harry, I want him to succeed with us but this club absolutely panders to him and I think it has not only had a negative impact on us, I don’t think it has benefitted him. I think he needed a manager to challenge his ego and humble him and it would have seen Harry reach even greater heights.

I don’t think he is willing to sacrifice himself for the good of the team, off the ball he is not willing to risk everything and I’ve never known a player with his reputation spend so much of games anonymous. I think he needs a manager willing to drop him, willing to take him off free kicks, willing to force him to chase balls to benefit Son. Willing to stay upfront and simply occupy the defenders and let the rest of the team benefit from the space.

I think he’s had Sunday league style managers son treatment since Poch left.

I wonder how much influence on team selection our lord and master Harry has - when he didn’t leave with the citeh interest, I wonder if any promises were made. I think perhaps he gets a say. He maybe wants Sonny playing alongside him every week despite his divebombing form. sure he digs us out time and again, but he is also culpable for some truly lacklustre performances- the first half yesterday he was barely noticeable on the pitch.

One thing on City is the investigations, which seems to have gone very quiet and slipped from peoples mind. As a player I would think it a risk to go there now considering they could be looking at hefty point deductions or worse in the next coupe of years. That would seriously put me off.
I doubt it’ll even cross their minds. Sanctions would probably be a bridge to be crossed if and when.

If we've given a player authority over a manager then we're even more stupid than i thought. I'd like to think that isn't the case.

I actually think he would be mad to go to Utd. Their best and most influential players are De Gea, Varane, Casemiro, Erisken and Bruno F. They are all players coming towards the latter stages (Bruno aside) and it’s going to cost them an absolute bomb to replace them with tenths same quality and leadership.

There is no guarantee whatsoever that Utd are going to become this trophy winning machine that the pundits appear to tell us. We were actually going above them in the league yesterday, yes played two games more, however if I were to listen to the pundits you would think we would be 20+ points behind them.

If he cared more about himself than the club he wouldn’t still be playing for the club in 2023. The guy cared so much about the club he’s stayed for far far too long through far too many false dawns. He went about the city thing wrong but who blames him. Since then he’s not kicked up any fuss at all. He’s an elite level striker and we are far from an elite level club.

I agree with most of that & I never said he didn’t care but think he’s cares more about being professional than showing love.

Very rarely to you see any emotion towards us the fans.

Him being here is more due to bad advice than anything

Kane has never seemed to love the club the same since his failed move to city.

I believe he will be off to utd this summer.
Watch him at the the end of every home game. He is always the first and one of the last to leave clapping the home fans off even when we lose. He definitely values the club.

I'm no idiot and he probably is savouring his last few moments at spurs could be a reason for it but if he didn't care I wouldn't have picked up on this routine.

He'll be off I'm sure in the summer, who could blame him but if we'd won one trophy or two and be top 4 next year with more trophies realistically possible maybe he would've signed a new contract...
