I accept the possibility, I just don't think it's a certainty just yet.
I'm not sure he's even made up his mind as to what he's doing just yet.

If someone offers 80-100m, then I guess we go again with this discussion but I'm not sure anyone is going that high anyway.
Bayern certainly won't.

I'd still rather get one more season to persuade him to stay.
Yeah I think despite the buzz surrounding the Bayern bid today it will likely settle down again when Bayern realise they need a monster bid to even get Levy to talk to them.

- Kane wont try to force a move after the City debacle
- Bayern won't come anywhere near the asking price
- There's zero noise coming from either Madrid or United

Regardless of all our collective hand-wringing I don't think anything has changed and I think it's v.likely he ends up staying simply because no-one's gonna get remotely close to what Levy wants. And then there's a sizeable chance Kane doesn't even fancy a move to Germany anyway.

Personally I'd sell as I think we need to look towards future now, I'd throw the kitchen sink at the Brighton lad if not I'd try for Hojlund or Vlahovic
80m plus Mane... though do we earn more in PL revenue for one more seaon and a chance of a trophy? 80m pays for Maddison and two CBs. With Son and Richarson injury issues another forward will be needed.

He is leaving either way - sale now, or free later.

I don’t disagree, however, given that he’s one of only a couple of things we’ve had to be proud of in the past few years as spurs fans, I’d much rather see him wear the shirt for one last season.

Hopefully this season goes better than the last and we can give him a proper send off rather than that disgrace after the Brentford game.

My opinion might not be shared but I really don’t care about his transfer value. Why do we even care about the money side of things?

We can raise cash from actual deadwood that aren’t good enough and we’ve got one of the strongest commerical models in the business.

Harry Kane is a pleasure to watch, our best player by a mile and we’re kidding ourselves if we think we can improve this season by letting him go.

I understand what you are saying but I respectfully disagree regarding those players being of the required quality.

They are huge risks, Kyogo especially, he works hard but gets bucket loads of chances in that Celtic squad.

Jota is quality on his day, but a little inconsistent imo.

They could potentially cut it but I’d be expecting players that are a tad more tried and tested than the aforementioned.

“A Tad more tried and tested”??

They are absolutely perfect additions. We are looking to rebuild a squad and a mentality double quick.

Jota and Kyago have successfully and physically lived through the journey Ange took Celtic through. They would be such an addition to the squad.

There’s every chance they wouldn’t be though. Nobody’s saying they wouldn’t be good additions, just that if we were to replace Kane with those two specific players it would be a ridiculous downgrade overall.

Our biggest issue is we have enough key changes to make this window without selling Kane. We need to get those deals done and transition our style of play. It's going to be a hell of a lot easier for Ange if he has Kane. I would seriously worry for him if he loses Kane for his first season. It could go the way of Ramos after losing Keane and Berbatov. Keep him now and transition this negative football we've been playing. Then when we lose Kane it will not be as impactful because we may actually learn how to function as an attacking unit. Similar to how we handles Kanes injuries under Poch, there were even some mad posters suggesting we drop him at the time. Use this season to transition and then next summer focus most of our transfer strategy on a new striker (also give Scarlett another good loan as he could be a good attacking player for next season). I also think Kane is more than happy to help get us back on track before he leaves.

If thats the case, when Kane goes on free, we can shut down the club & go - why bother...

Question is simple :
If Kane has already decided to not renew, why would you keep him till summer and see him walk to Chelsea under Poch or United or Liverpool for free ?

If 100m cant get anything, what will 0 get next summer...especially when Kane is actually playing for another rival in PL ?

For me, answer is quite clear. If Kane is not signing, we sell him now outside PL and use the fund to improve the squad. Start from scratch for new manager. We will never find a player to replace Kane. But that doesnt mean we cant sign players who can collectively get those goals assist.
Perhaps Kane really wants to stay. But he does want to win trophies and although his preference would be to win them at Spurs, Levy has made so many promises to him about “building a team around him” and not delivered that Kane’s hand is being forced.

Perhaps with all the change that is happening now he wants to be sure he is making the right decision before jumping ship.

Who knows apart from Harry himself.

Yeah, maybe I'm just optimistic and wearing lily-white tinted glasses but apart from City, I'd say we're as appealing as anyone else.
That's taking into account that he's settled here and understanding that we had a shit season but that was due to a lot of things.

We've had a shit season but I don't think we've got a shit squad, especially if we can get some decent additions (which by all accounts we are trying to do).
I don't see any real reason why we can't fight our way up to 'best of the rest' again.
Kane has always said he would stay at Spurs as long as the club shared his ambitions. Since the ill-fated Neville interview, Spurs have gone backwards and are now on their 4th manager. I can’t see any scenario where Kane now thinks Spurs are showing ambition.

Where did I say that these would be the perfect replacement for Kane?
