Honestly there's no point holding onto Kane if you have no intention to be competitive. Sort the defence out and leave ourselves with a strong squad with Kane. It's pretty clear that we're waiting on the Kane deal before pulling the trigger on CB's

As someone on the "DL get out of the football side" of the business, this is a smart play given the hand he's got. The pressure has to be building on the BM side. as the Plettenberg post sounds like a bit of face saving. Would hope he would move forward with a CB in the immediate future to further emphasize operations continue regardless of the negotiation. If they are serious, they'll cough it up quickly. Rinse em for every penny you can Daniel.

But that £5-10million pounds is a trade off for us not being ready and strong for the start of the season which could say cost us 6-9 pts which could be the difference between 4th & 5th or a trophy which is either a difference of about £30mil and/or the whole point of football which is sporting success not who can make the most profit.
