I take your point but I would suggest our relationship with Chelsea has changed since the days of Hoddle.yeah theres no way a club legend like Kane or Hoddle could ever go to chelsea and be viewed the same way after

Good post, and I totally get this, and understand their stance,Bayern are VERY wealthy.
What they do have though is a commitment to their fans and board not to overpay. Don't forget the 50+1 rule in Germany. At some point the money inolved just won't make sense, and like Levy for Spurs, they will move on to other targets. Now that said, those targests seem to be drying up fast, so I am not sure who they turn the attention to should Kane call their bluff and now stay. That said, they do start their season a week later than us.
Regardless, Bayern can easily afford Kane, they just don't want to overpay and are happy to negotiate as much as possible to keep the costs down. After all, they don't want to start a precedent. Their last Transfer Record was a few seasons ago now, this is not a club or a league that is as wanten with their money as others, plus as others have said, for the majority they can and do often buy the talent within Germany to ensure they stay top in the Bundesliga. THis is something the fans are fully behind and it is of course the same thing Ferguson used to do with Man United until other clubs caught up finacially.
We might perceive this as "arrogance", but in Germany this is seen as being sensible.
How exactly this is putting all of the pressure on Levy though?
Either way Kane wouldn't leave this summer without Levy agreeing the price he wants for Kane and now if you want to believe this briefing he won't force/even doesn't want a move after Brentford game.
So I would say if anything this is putting all of the pressure on Bayern to quickly improve their offer to something remotely acceptable
I wish he'd actually used those words, though. The message from Harold is clear
Sign a good fucking centre back
Jose and Conte weren’t “one of our own though.”IfMourinhocan’t get Levy to spend, then no one can.
IfContecan’t get Levy to spend, then no one can.
If Kane can’t get Levy to spend, then no one can.
Fuck em, they need to cut their cloth accordingly then and get on with it.

People keep saying Levy won't want to lose an 80mil asset for nothing but it isn't as simple as that. He's worth a lot of money to the club through sponsorship and image rights etc that we lose if we sell him. Then you have to guesstimate how much more in prize money we pick up from having him in the side. Once all of that is taken off it's a lot less than 80million that's for sure. Levy will have a lot more factored into his figures than what tranfermarkt have him down at.
There's probably an alternate universe out there that this would/has happened in.Fucking Hell.
Sign 2-3 top class additions.
Kick ass start of the season.
Shit money on kane.
Have him sign the contract.
Win things.
Build him a statue in 6 years.
Is this really asking too much?
The net goal difference might be better - there are players that would score, and we would concede lessBut we’d score more goals without Kane than we would if we kept him
The guy has come in and said if progress is made he will sign a new contract. It’s so simple. Sort the squad out, sell the shit, sign (at least one cb) and show some intent. We have one of the worlds best strikers willing to stay… if this was any other club they would have been ruthless and got rid of shit players and strengthened areas which needed. Why the fuck can’t spurs do the same. Golden opportunity to actually go for it.
If Levy fucks this up, then it’s all on him and I truly hope QSI or someone with deep pockets comes in and spends whatever is needed.
wasn't Kane one of the ones who said Poch had to go near the end? It’s people catastrophising which has been exasperated by Poch going there. As you say, unless we are being naive, there is no way Kane torches his long career/reputation at Spurs going to Chelsea.
So many been trying to convince themselves we'll be better without Kane and that he doesn't fit the system etc. wonder how easily they'll backtrack if he stays.
