Losing Lloris and Kane in the same window will both be hugely detrimental to the leadership but also gives us a chance of a fresh start. We simply have to give Ange time.

Yeah definitely will feel like the rebuild is totally complete with those two gone. With the exception of Son we could lineup with 10 players bought post Poch against Brentford in a weeks time. As much as it hurts to lose Kane it will be refreshing to get behind a young set of players again, all with something prove, and not tainted by the near misses of the Poch-era.

The idea that Levy has held out and played a blinder on the fee is nonsensical. With one year in his contract he just doesn’t have the leverage. I’m sure it’s just been played out in the media to save face but surely this has been almost certain since June.

I dunno think Levy has done all right tbf, 100m approx and not staying in the Prem best we could have hoped for

With Kane and Lloris leaving and maybe also Hojbjerg and Perisic we surely must have the youngest squad in the league?

Chelsea have the youngest squad in the league 23.5 average, then Arsenal just under 25, if we replace all the above with 21 year olds it'll also be around 25 years but would be the 3rd youngest squad.

Feels like it's edging closer to getting done now. In January I said we would likely have to face upto the fact he'd leave this summer so no surprise but now it looks its actually happening will be quite sad to see him go. What a player and almost take his ability for granted and how he is almost effortless in the way he just puts the goals away. Will be strange not seeing him line up for us.

Such a crying shame as a club we can't give him the platform to compete for the big titles and this is the one thing that grates because I can seeing the same happening again in the future if there isn't a change at the top.

Don’t do it, Levy. Bayern doesn’t deserve to get him, and we will piss away the money anyway. Kane’s goals next season will be worth more than what Bayern can offer.

Think we could actually line up with 10 bought post-Mourinho - it’s a new-look Spurs, for better or for worse.

Be very interesting to see how today develops with tomorrows match in mind. Will it be very quick and he doesn’t play tomorrow? We he get a send off tomorrow or will Bayern not want to risk it? If he doesn’t play it will all but confirm everything. Means today may well be a rollercoaster with both news in kane and reinforcements

Sorry I have to disagree here. I’m not a Levy fan in any way shape or form, however I think he has done the right thing here. We can’t be seen to be bullied by anyone, we set a target amount, if they meet it then they can have him.
That’s kind of my point. How we are seen is more relevant than any actual negotiation as we had little leverage

Would be nice if he could run someone over or have some troubling statements come out to make it easier to say goodbye, but I bet he’ll just be professional and thoroughly decent, the bastard.

People keep talking about how we spend the money, as if it’s additional. I think Veliz, VDV etc IS us spending that money… it shouldn’t be given our financial power but it likely is.

In which case, a chunk of it goes immediately if those two are confirmed.

I hope I’m wrong, but I dont think we’re about to sign those players and then also go big elsewhere.

I’m actually not knocking him although we could knock him for getting to the point where Kane has one year left. I’m saying that there’s no way he was in a position to negotiate a good position

I’m still holding onto blind hope Kane rejects them and stays at us, it won’t happen but that’s fandom for you.

I remember years ago when we were going to sign John Hartson and being elated when he failed medical at the 11th hour

Of course. It's the smugness, the sense of entitlement that I loathe. If the whole business had been conducted with respect, I wouldn't be finding it so hard to swallow.

The German smugness was the sense that we would fold. I'm hoping they have paid through the nose.

There will be uproar in Germany if its North of 100m.

No chance. Agreeing the fee and payment terms is the last thing to be agreed these days.
