Some people will try and spin this in a positive way. But it’s really not that much money in todays market, and I think this is a massive step backwards for the club.

Some people don’t remember what it was like not having a top striker at the club. Until Kane came along we hadn’t had a regular 20 goal a year striker at the club for donkeys years. Not having a reliable goal scorer up front can make teams very inconsistent. It’s why Strikers always go for the top money and earn the top wages. We will struggle to attract a replacement that will reliably replace those goals.

It’s all good and well thinking an attacking team will make up for that, but it doesn’t. I know from experience that it didn’t under Jol, and it didn’t under Redknapp. Neither manager had a truly reliable goalscorer, and neither were able to have the team consistently performing at the top of the league. That’s despite having some truly brilliant attacking talent from midfield that often chipped in with goals. That’s never enough.
Agree with this. It’s the difference between city signing Haaland and going up levels to win the treble versus Chelsea having exciting wingers but no one to finish and regressing despite their spending. I appreciate chelsea we’re in transition perhaps, but it matters.

I think your being overly pessmistic
I’m not. I’m not one of the usual negative nellies on here and usually try and see the positives in the situation. But looking at our record in the transfer market, coupled with the higher fees and wages needed to attract equality these days, as well as how things turned out after selling Bale, Modric, Berbatov, Carrick, etc etc etc. experience tells me that this is going to be way rougher than people are expecting. So it’s just realism, not pessimism.

Things are going to get worse before they get better. That’s how it works every time when you sell your best player.

I know I’m a bitter b!tch & I loved Harry but after that malarkey the other year with Man C and the interview with Neville, I’m not gonna lie a bit of me always hated that and made me more cynical about how much he really cared. Anyways, loved him. It’s gonna be hard but we have to look forward now.

I simply want to thank Harry for all he has given Spurs. Not just outscoring the phenomenanal Jimmy Greaves but breaking Rooney's England record while with us.

Harry is a model professional and has never caused a problem for the club. Some will point to Harry wanting to leave for Manchester City a couple of years ago, but he didn't for whatever reason. He buckled down and consistently performed at his best for Spurs.

Many players would have been haply to run down the last 12 months of their contract but Harry will be leaving for a very large fee.

Nothing last for ever and a new era will begin for Spurs. I like the idea if building a hungry new team, especially one built to play thev attacking football that is synonymous with our club.

I wish Harry the very in Germany. Having surpassed Jimmy Greaves' record with us, Harry will have to go.some to.surpass the equally great Gerd Muller who. s Bayern's top ever scorer.

Gerd Muller: Goals: 523
Games: 580.

Greavsie & Muller.

Different era when we sold those players, we were a selling club, and we didnt have the draw to pull in players of suffcient quality. We dont sell anymore, in fact we should have a few time but we held and its actually held us back. If this summers recruitment is to go by it does seem we are operating with a better understanding of what players we need. i dont think season will be easy, but I think we can challenge for top 4. He was going to go one day, retire, leave on a free it was not like he was going to play for ever.

We are a selling club now. We are selling our best player. The fact it looks like it’s all being spent on kids shows we can’t attract the top talent either.

We will be miles off top four again. We are nowhere near City, Arsenal, United, Liverpool. It’s likely Chelsea will be much improved. Newcastle are improving too. Villa have also invested just as heavily as we have so far this summer, if not more.

We are going to be fighting out with Villa for Europe/conference league at best.

Meh, you only get one career. He is a driven individual that wants to be at the top. He gave us numerous opportunities to get to the top with him and for one reason or another we never did.

I see him winning the CL with Bayern and the Ballon d’Or. He just has a drive, wouldn’t surprise me if he gets the PL record after playing into his late 30s.

Chill guys we have Brazil’s current no9 as our back up striker. Keep him fit and he’ll score 15-20 goals I’m sure.

Unless Ange turns out to be the messiah, I can see this happening. Or we win the league.

Enjoy the memories but for fucks sake, look forward to the future guys!!!
Yep glad it’s over tbh.

And will most things there are some positives not all negatives.

Hope we get our targets right with the money but this could be a good thing for Ange being able to really truly properly re-build and mould us exactly to how he wants so we can be a good overall team and not just rely on one or two players.

Richy going straight in the FPL team too now unless we sign a big money replacement.

I trust Ange to shape the squad.

Thanks for the memories Harry, I hope you win the CL with Bayern, scoring a hat-trick against Arsenal knocking them out on the way to the final but we now move on and aim to be stronger overall.

Well either way we dont know, you see it the way you see it and i see it the other way. We shall see at the end of the season. But other than City I think for the rest of is this season will be pretty open in terms of who finishes where

For all the sadness, I am grateful we have Ange to oversee the team. Have a feeling Ange isn't bothered at all with having Kane or no Kane. He's going to make us so much better as a team than relying on Kane so often.
