If Bayern verbally agreed a figure with Levy and this has fallen over because of payment terms, then I’d bet this is still very much doable.

We know Bayern are minted, would they simply not meet Levy’s payment terms and get it done? It’s not like they don’t have the cash.

I’d be surprised if they don’t come back one more time.

Think their ownership structure makes releasing extra sums of money up-front like that more difficult. Them having €100m available for a striker was reported well before they started moving for Kane.

The peak hilarity move now would be for them to come to England for Kane but come back to Tuchel with Lukaku! :ROFLMAO:

That makes sense now, thanks for clarifying mate 👍

While I'm agreed it's becoming more unlikely by the day, I still wouldn't rule anything out for the next couple of days. The reality is we are pissed off with Bayern, Kane(and family) are pissed off with Bayern and the Germans don't seem to understand why we haven't buckled.

Their last top line bid was initially thought to be enough, and then they later broke down the structure of the payments and how that was including all the addons(some of which were unlikely to be achievable) and it was met with a hard and fast no. Levy then changed his stance due to all the messing around and laid it out very clearly that we now wanted the bulk straight up front with far less in add ons etc. It's now created quite a gap from what they have said they'd be willing to do.

I'm not prepared at this stage to say he's staying, but I have now put him in my FPL side(provisionally) (y).

United fans have been convinced of this for 5 years now.

He just said to me 'what's the point of keeping him you won't win anything or finish top 4'

Its these comments that we really wind me up lol

So yeah just roll over because of that 🤣

It's not like United are a powerhouse these days either.

We have one poor season in terms of league finish and all of the sudden the last 7/8 years are forgotten.

My fear now is he'll join another PL club for free next summer. That's the worst possible outcome out of all of this.
I always had that worry but there are 18 other clubs that he wouldn't strengthen. We need to worry about us and not others. Irrespective of him strengthening a rival club or not, the rival club always strengthen.

If we keep moving in the right direction then we are in a good place.

This place really does attract a very high number of people who worry about the future and things that are far from certain to happen. It must be a very tiring way to live rather than just enjoying the here and now and seeing how things develop.

I think most people are just talking things through and making predictions based on what they think could happen. It doesn't mean they're not enjoying the present moment. It's a discussion forum, people enjoy discussing these things.

Anyone reading this guff from Peter Schmeichel?:

"Look at Manchester United with Rasmus Hojlund - he is 20 and Kane will be 31.
If Kane was the one they wanted, Manchester United would have done it."

"If he sees his contract out there is a danger he gets no offers because of wages."

He must have forgotten how old Teddy was when he joined Utd.

and I just don’t understand his comment re wages. Only a career ending injury (which he’d be insured for anyway) stops HK being inundated with offers next summer on much higher money than he’s on now. Going on a free was always the best financial option for HK.

I mean it more in the sense that they use it as a genuine reason as to why they’d prefer us to sell HK now.

Of course it’s an opinion. I just can’t get my head around that mentality.
The fact you would wish away a world class player and not enjoy his talents for another season just because he could join Utd or someone else in year.

The ex United players live in a little bubble don’t they. To them it’s still 1999 and they’re the biggest club and anyone would be stupid not to go there.

As if there are people talking about being worried about next summer. Just focus on one season at a time. It was the same under Conte.DDoes my head in Reading g about "oh but next summer" etc.

Project Kane should be building a team on his level. Signing some of the most promising young players to develop. Then you get to a point in a year or however long where you don't rely on 1 player so much anymore. So project Kane should be keep him, sign 1 more CB and get Orban, then loan him and the other youngsters. If he leaves we cross that bridge down the road. That's the same for all players though. We could have Orban, Veliz and Scarlett all waiting in the wings by then.

There is another twist coming, I believe.

If I’m right, it’s going to be down to HK to make the final decision.

This is only based on a forthcoming article in the Athletic that I’ve been told about but haven’t seen since I dont subscribe.
If it’s an athletic article the transfer window will probably be over by the time you’ve finished it
