I think the evidence I'd use to support my argument that Levy is trying to call Kane's bluff is; have you ever seen a deal reported with such consistency about how it's now down to the player to decide? Sure it's mentioned here and there but look how explicit it is being said.

Whatever you may think of Levy, he found a way to make this situation win/win for himself. He either got the deal or he's going to force Kane to show his hand. If Kane stays, the worst thing he can do for himself is be pressured into signing a new deal. If you want to stay, stay but keep your leverage.

In all fairness if he does decide to stay, he pretty much has a whole season to decide whether he wants to stay at the club for the rest of his career or make the move to pretty much any club on the planet next summer.

This seems to be a win/win situation for Harry too IMO.

I agree. Although would the club have not gone stronger. Make the acceptance public in an official statement “reluctantly accepted a club record bid and now respecting harry by allowing him to decide although we hope he still stays”

If Bayern have stumped up the cash I'll understand why he's gone.

It's past failures that have cost us when it comes to keeping Harry.

But can't lie , I'd have rather got this meltdown over last week rather than had it 2 days before Brentford. The timing is annoying.

I don’t know what’s more astounding - how many people who are emotionally invested in this have clearly not been reading the updates, or how many people here have inside knowledge of what Harry, Daniel, and Lieutenant Gruber think/feel/do.

Please tell me “project Kane” is phenomenal…..
It does actually sound like one of those team names on The Apprentice. We've gone with the name "Project Kane" Lord Sugar.

Fuck what happened? I went shopping and the deal was on the brink of collapse and he was going to stay and just got home and we've basically sold him? Wow.

Only if he doesn't sign a new deal though, the pressure to sign a new deal will come. it will be spun as how Kane is allowing his personal interests disrupt the club, impacting Ange and fans will slowly start to criticise him for it and questions of loyalty will come in. He needs to rise above it and do what's best for him.

Im one that really dislike Levy for a lot of things but this time he did the right thing to sell Kane but he accepted the offer to late...
If Kane want to leave and he only have 1 year left on his contract who knows how much effort he would do? (I think he would do his best, but never know) and late in January he sign a pre-contract with X team. Would he then play his best or would his head already be gone? Maybe play more careful so he won't get injured etc

Just hope we already have a name already and just need to put the pen on the paper and don't wait 2 weeks...

And ofc I don't want Kane to leave, wanted him to sign a new contract but also understand if he wants to win something in his career

Really?

We been making a loss for the last few years and have just spent more money this summer without, up until now, making any significant sales.
So instead off selling your dead wood we sell our best player 2 days before 1st game of season ?

Lots of teams operating at losses yet can still spend big on players for example United. We are one of the wealthiest and profitable teams in Pl and Europe yet we sell our best players and buy cheap replacements and some fans are happy at accepting mediocrity?
Man utd and liverpool fans won't accept this so why should we ?

Praying Harry turns them down. We need a season of him under Ange.

If he goes then life goes on. I still think we'll be competitive under Ange and have more faith in Richy than most.

The only thing I'm certain on is us using the money in a completely underwhelming fashion.

Didn’t buy a world class striker you want to donate to the club did you?
