So to sum up where we are at 4:35 PM - Harry is hesitating and Levy, instead of doing all he can to get him to stay is trying to push him out the door because……….money!

I hate that man more than is healthy

assuming of course this isnt just BS twitter nonsense
Money yes which of course translates into new player's fees.
Also it's about closure, certainty and finally some sort calmness, an end to this bloody ongoing chaotic crapfest.
I'm sure it's still what it's been all along, sign or go.

Because he wants to keep his options open?
Would a buyout clause of say 40-50m not also keep his options open? I'd be stunned if the rest of the top clubs in the PL, Madrid, Barca, PSG, Bayern etc. were not willing to pay that kind of price for him in a year. He'd still be in control of his future.

The club is no longer willing to remain uncertain about Harry's intentions. While he initially set the pace, the club has since caught up, and Harry now appears hesitant about that potential move. Spurs' willingness to keep him hinges on a commitment, which Levy is now pushing for. While this doesn't necessarily imply an impending new deal, the club is keen to avoid a protracted saga and prevent Harry from gaining leverage after the transfer window closes.

Surely this gets decided one way or another by the end of today 🤞

Off-topic but this is the best thread to ask in. Anyone notice any server issues? Today's been our busiest day of the window so far and I was expecting a few issues but things seem to have been fine on my end.

It would but it might also restrict the sort of astronomical wages he could ask for on a free transfer.

Some of you are really confusing me, quite a few of you seem to have rose tinted glasses on as far as him staying this season is concerned. It's almost like you are happy for him that he is going to go on a free to whomever he wants next summer and not realise what it would do to this season.

Ange's back is against the wall anyway with the strength of the league, there is no way we are having anything close to a settled season if he runs his contract down. Even if we are going well, the bigger clubs are going to hammer us with Media drivel about him all season long. It will destabilise us all season, that isn't even taking into account that he would be scoring against us when he breaks the Record - imagine that, in Chelsea Blue the goal he breaks the record with is against us.

Levy has numerous faults, but I am totally with him in that if he doesn't sign on then it would be much, much better he went to Bayern now.

I think Levy has called Kane's bluff here big time.

Only once or twice it's been slow to load, but not sure if that was my Internet or the server. Bar that no issues.

He should stay and see how we go this season.

On a free next summer he’ll have his pick, or if we do show enough he’d be happy to stay with us.

If he signs for Bayern and doesn’t like it, he’ll have way less freedom to change his circumstances.
He might not want to sign a 5 year deal. That would stop him breaking Shearer’s record most likely. It's a huge decision to commit for 5 years, especially when you are having doubts.
