Bayern apparently still confident

ā€œFor FC Bayern it was clear from the start: without the clear will and firm commitment of Harry Kane, there would be no negotiations with Daniel Levy.

Those responsible have kept in touch with the Kane side around father Pat and brother Charlie over the past few weeks and never had the feeling that the player could change his mind.

As of now, there is still no final go from Kane, but those responsible remain confident that the transfer will take place before the weekend. Everything is prepared!

@SPORT1ā€

Lots of blame to go around, but one of the big drivers of this mess seems to be HK's representation being unwilling/able to manage expectations with the buying club for the second time in three years.

You canā€™t make him, that was part of the problem all along. Itā€™s very dangerous when players near the end of a contract as clubs have little power.
I canā€™t remember back to last year to recall why Levy didnā€™t bring this situation to a head then?

Over-confidence in what Conte would achieve having performed a miracle the season before and believing HK would want to sign a new deal?

HK simply too important to threaten with the bench?

If he doesnā€™t go, I think itā€™s more likely theyā€™ve completely played Bayern and know what they were doing.

The day I had to be in the office and had a look on here at lunchtime expecting something official by now. All parties drip feeding Im sure for numerous reasons. A gooner & United fan at work reckon we want too much for KanešŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Found this so amusing. Me being, should I put it lightly, not the biggest fan of Levy feels he mightā€™ve played this well if he gets the max amount. But we will see. This whole thing being played out is still so weird yet sadly inevitable. When thereā€™s optimism this club doesnā€™t half remind you how hard it is being a Spurs fan.

Defo not hating on Kane for this though. My take ideally would love him to stay and sign for life but we all know it doesnā€™t work like that. Iā€™m bricking it now for who this mysterious striker or two we get in if any. Jeez this is such a headache!

Wow. The whole kaleidoscope of emotions on here.
For meā€¦.if he stays, great. Enjoy the goals this season and his professionalism and gifting of experience in training.
Wherever he ends up, he ends up. Usā€¦or somewhere else.
If he goes this weekendā€¦great. Very grateful for everything he has done and I wish him well.

As for all the other fortune-telling and obsessive opinions as to where heā€™s not allowed to go next and whether he signs a further contract or not, you lot will have an aneurysm. It is what it is. Heā€™s allowed to make his own decisions.
Celebrate the days heā€˜s with usā€¦.and the goals he scores.
And move on when heā€˜s not around any more.
Simple.

Praying he signs a new contract. He's never moved clubs as a professional footballer hopefully he's realising how much Tottenham means to him when it gets real and sticking with us.

I never felt he'd go to Bayern its just a weird move. Real would have been a possibility or even Barca but Bayern makes no sense and never did.

Fair play if he does go but you feel there might be more playing out here and then there is definitely the amateur factor of his dad and brother acting as intermediaries. Neither qualified and neither with any experience of actually closing out a move for a player.

Let's pray he signs on for another dance.

That's fair enough. Maybe my wording was harsh. I just can't stand the dude's flip flopping after we've given him what he wanted. Pisses me off, especially with all the upheaval around the club.

We're THFC, not Harry Kane FC. You guys can describe his actions however you want to make you feel better, to me it seems disrespectful, especially right before the season starts.
Absolutely. And Itā€˜s also disrespectful to Bayern, who have made a massive effort to seal this signing.

We need to move on now otherwise our start to the season will be completely derailed by this never-ending saga.

Bang on, just don't go to arsenal or Chelsea and I'll wish him all the best as an amazing servant of the club.

God damn it, yesterday I got Kane 10th pick in my fantrax draft and now my whole season is fucked, both for Spurd and Fantrax

Youā€™d think if Richy is as badly injured as alluded to, that weā€™d say sorry changed our mind and bid not accepted now.
Or we buy another forward anyway and move on Richi next summer if he can't stay fit or isn't working out. Fwiw I want Richi to stay and I think he's good, but it hasn't exactly worked out so far.

Gotta say, Levy's played a masterstroke in ensuring Kate was due to give birth just as the season starts, ensuring both their emotions will be all over the place, knowing they wouldn't want to make a life changing decision at such a time. I wonder how he pulled off such a plan.
By not "pulling out', I assume.
