We really are a messy club. Levy is such a twat. If you accept a bid, that's it. Tweaking, revoking, this is all bullshit.

Oooooof I’d still be just glad he turned down Bayern to be honest and at least gives us this season, but Levy is cut from a different cloth…
And then there are those supporters who have said all summer that we can’t let him leave on a free and even calling levy negligent if he did so. Can’t win with the support base. For what it’s worth I agree with you but levy will get heat no matter what he did. I think for the player and club this was the right call and puts all emphasis on Kane to decide what he wants. Seems that he wants the new challenge and a guarantee of CL football for the next 4 years.

Totally with you - You can't deal with people like this

And, more importantly...just make it stop. Please, this is a f*cking circus. Make it stop

Ange is about to face his first ever PL prematch press conference. A event thats already going to be clearly eclipsed by Kane departure....Levy making the matters worse by creating uncertainity.

I feel for Ange and his staff. He would have never imagined the first press conference could possibly be his most difficult

The thing is, we do spend the money (kind of), but we rarely spend it well - and we go for opportunistic £30m-£40m punts rather than clubbing that money for more expensive, established names.

Would you trade a Porro (45) and Spence (20) for a Havertz or Szobolszai type signing at 65? Of course.

Spent to last couple of days reading this thread, yes I'm gutted Harry is going, but we move on.

All the doom and gloom is being a bit disrespectful to Ange. He has been brought in to rebuild and change the ethos, and you're either in or out - better he loses Kane now that build a team around him for to walk away in a years time.

Yes we will miss him, but having watched all the pre-season games, I think we'll be OK. In most of the games (apart from Shakhtar) he was not the best player on the pitch. With Ange is style of play we will get a lot more goals from midfield which we have struggled for in recent years.

Any maybe, with not being second fiddle to Kane, Richarlison will get the opportunity to show is why he is Brazil's number 9.

Yes, it's a sad day... but we move on, in Ange we trust COYS!

I know it's funny as it will wind up the German press etc. However, in reality this is piss poor from Levy. The timing is already going to put us on the backfoot so close to our first game. If you've agreed everything, just let him go.

More speculation, more questions for Amge to deal with and IMO he should be looking at improvements to our squad after agreeing to sell our best player rather than trying to 'win' in the deal with Bayern.

Don’t think it makes any difference to the overall picture or to the discomfort of Ange’s press conference so I actually love this move by Levy.

Bayern can’t pull out now so will put up extra money I’m sure.

And this could be the natural consequence of what has been said about the last minute greed of Charlie and the dad seeking large “commissions” from Levy. Karma.

So, there is a good chance he wouldn't be leaving now if the ref didn't give that fucking penalty for Sissoko's "hand" 4 years ago

Is it right to sell Kane when he wants out? Yes, we aren’t a club who can make a 100m loss on a player.
BUT, this should have been sorted a month ago. The deadline should have been set.
The club should have had a clear cohesive plan to replace Kane from day 1, whether that’s spreading the money out on 2-3 players in different positions or going big on 1 player to try to replace him.
It’s very difficult to watch our generational talent of a player leave, combined with our rivals spending huge sums on their issues.
We have signed some players yes, but they have all been cheap options, every single 1 was free or not a main target.
The club has constantly failed over the ENIC tenure and this is just another huge failing.

Exactly - there is a good argument to keep him and a good argument to sell him this summer.

There is not a good argument to drag the saga out for months and sell him the day the new season starts.

If this is real it shows quite how far away Levy is from understanding or caring about the fan base opinion. Worrying.

It shouldn't of, however its as much to do with kane and bayern fucking around.
Levy is responsible for what happens at Tottenham and making sure we are prepared for the season, not Bayern and not Kane. If he'd have put in a hard no negotiable deadline of 3 weeks ago Bayern would still have found the money, the deal still would have been done and we'd have had time to get things in order.

You assume this comes back to Spurs, though I am not so sure. His agents are not very reliable apparently.

Pray for Ange today. Going to be a shitshow from the meeja. There's a guy probably already sick of the name Harry Kane. This time next year he could well be sick of the name Daniel Levy.
