Those leaders did a great job at Newcastle last year and the rest of the season.

The only player to come out of last season with any credit is on/near boarding a plane for Germany. Everyone else phoned it in last year. Wouldn't trust a single one to lead the club out.

Bissouma and probably bentancur are exceptions but that's a narrow choice. If Dier is made captain and plays I'll seriously question Ange's competence to manage a football team.

I'm not saying we had leaders on the pitch last season - the flip side of my point is that if we have no leaders on the pitch, it also doesnt matter who has the armband on, there wlil still be a void of leadership.

The funny thing is if you'd polled our fan base of those old enough to remember them all of who was best out of Levy, Sugar and Scholar, despite the hate he has always had from some quarters, I'm pretty sure Levy would have been a unanimous winner 4 years ago. Tbf if we wanted to get rid of our medical team bringing in Neymar would be a savvy move. They’d all put in their notice after one day of training.
