I have no problems with @Tucker's opinions in general, however suggesting we shouldn't have taken Kane on tour because of one comment that Ange has made is incredibly daft.

There was absolutely no guarantee this transfer was going to happen until late last night. Why would we risk losing Kane for the entire pre-season and potentially have him not match-sharp until September just because he might have been moving to Bayern? There's absolutely zero logic and it grates on me that anyone thinks that would have been a realistic possibility.

I agree with your points but I think you're misunderstanding his point. His point was that the board should have set a deadline for it to be done before the tour so that we had a clean pre-season to get the situation in the rear view, a decision that was up to the board, as you say because Kane was still here, he had to participate but Tucker is saying, it should never have got to this point, a deadline should be set and then he was either gone or he's on the tour and therefore he is staying and that's final. Then the argument is about Bayern not paying up, I think the debate there is the value difference between what offers were available then, to the deal now in comparison to the value of a clean pre-season with no drama and the impact on our season and potential success which could yield greater financial reward. The problem is that this club has a history of wanting deals to go to the last because then you can tac on little additional fee's and squeeze the lemon and so I think a preference would have been a clear set value; pay it or don't and never pick the phone up beyond that date.

Setting a deadline would have been perfectly reasonable.
They set a deadline of before the season starts.

That was agreed by ange and Harry from day one. It's not an unreasonable one.

Should we have excluded our all time record goalscorer over a potential deal? That seems harsh

Ange said if something was agreed between both clubs, Harry would go. We can all speculate about when "something was agreed" between the two clubs, but the reports in the media suggest it was Wed night. That would fit the timeline of Harry deciding yesterday to proceed with the move and flying over today for the medical.

Personally, I think we brought him on tour and played him in Sunday's friendly because nothing had been agreed yet between the two clubs. Ange was preparing for the season with Harry because Bayern hadn't made an acceptable bid.

Off the top of my head, I was gutted when we lost Hoddle, Waddle, Gascoigne, VDV, Bale and now Kane

But each time we got over it and we'll get over this. For an assortment of reasons, all clubs lose their best from time to time.

At the end of the day, he wanted to go so selling him overseas was the best outcome. I mean, fucking hell, I wouldn't piss over Levy if he was on fire and I do blame him for allowing the club to go so far backwards that we lost one of our all time great players, but, having allowed it to get that far, he did as well as can be expected out of the shitty situation he created.

That's as far as it goes with him though. For the rest of it, he needs to be catapulted so far up Tottenham High Road that the first time his bony little arse bounces is outside Seven Sisters tube station.

I accept completely that Ange's words don't indicate having already spent the Kane money etc, but he does suggest that anyone can see from our recruitment that we had his possible departure in mind. Anyone clear on how that's the case?

Surely all players we have signed could easily play in a team with Kane rather than being part of a Kane-less masterplan. (Veliz being one for the future so not seen as a direct replacement).

What looked most likely last sunday morning to the club? Kane leaving, quite clearly. So what would make most sense, give him the minutes or Scarlett or Son in a different position and someone else at LWF? Could easily have delayed Kane's minutes until the Barcelona match (although by then it was even clearer that he was off and so we could have avoided wasting minutes on him at all)
Look the deal nearly broke down up until late last night so u cant say for sure how likely it looked last Sun.
Its obvs we aint gonna agree on this and thats fine. What we can both agree on is that we hope we bring in some quality now in various postions to help Ange out in his first season which i am still excited for . COYS

Your first sentence comes across as saying something that's 100% gospel. Bit ironic given what you accused me of.

Bayern must have promised him the moon and back, with Tuchel sweet talking gullible Charlie and Pat.
Would be funny when Tuchel gets the sack soon enough.
Not bitter, I'm kinda glad he's gone outside the PL as it's been brewing since the City thing, and the media talks as if he's bigger than the club.

I’m pretty sure if we manage to offload a few . Ie .. Hojberg, Sanchez Tanganga Spence etc.. we will see a couple more come in.

like Ange keeps saying the squad is overinflated , it’s way to big !

so as it stands we need to offload a few to be able to bring in . Obviously we could do the money to go towards getting the right players we need also
