Its the football equivalent of ring culture in the NBA where people try and look down on you if you've never won the NBA Finals.

No one with common sense will say that Charles Barkley or Steve Nash weren't great players and aren't deserving of being in the Hall of Fame just because they didn't win anything. Barkley played in the Michael Jordan era and Steve Nash and my Suns used a system that was ten years ahead of its time but never got to the Finals.

This notion that Kane deserves to win something, especially compared to the rest of our squad is rubbish IMO.

Team sports is like that, not everyone will win and that means that many great players will miss out, there is no shame in that.
Mate men playing netball are in no position to look down on anyone.

If we're honest with ourselves, we're hurt he's moved on, we're hurt he's telling the truth, we're hurt he's saying what we all fear.
Maybe, but I can tell you with 100% honesty I am nowhere near hurt he has gone. I was more upset when Teddy left. Hes gone, we move on.

Well we won a trophy a year before he made his debut, his time with us the most trophy barren in club history. If we pick up a trophy as soon as he leave ...

Reminds me of Thierry Henry saying he had to leave because even if he got the PL goalscoring record without silverware it will all be nothing. I think Kane looked at it thinking he's on par with all the best players, arguably the best CF of this last decade, but none of his goals have memorable achievements. I think he will be embarrassed that someone like Giroud has scored in cup finals and Vardy has a league title.

Don't miss him.

We've started well, vibes are high, and Ange is getting the love he deserves.

If he were still here, every press conference would still be "is Harry signing a new deal" ... "what will you do if Kane joins ... on a free in the summer"

fk that

I’d rather he just didn’t say anything about Spurs.
As for all this crap about him “deserving” to win something. Absolute bollocks. You go out there and you earn those trophies. However, every man and his dog knows he’s gone to Bayern for the guaranteed trophies. He gets questions about where finals are being held because they are the sort of club where it really is a given. Like someone said before, Bayern will win stuff with or without Kane. So his talk about pressure makes me laugh. What pressure? Just show up for 40 odd matches a season and pick up a couple of trophies. The real pressure he would’ve switched was one of having a clubs hopes and dreams on his shoulders, and he decided he couldn’t be arsed with that anymore so he moved somewhere where he could relax.
Having said that I actually don’t really care that he’s chosen the easy option. Why wouldn’t you? I’d have played for Real Madrid if I ever had the chance. But keep all the sly digs about Spurs out of interviews.

My god. The site rules mean I can't call some of you fucking childish, emotionally stunted idiots. But fuck me, one of our greatest ever players gets this purile bollocks. Over fuck all.

This is another example of over analysing everything, being bothered or angry about the fuck alls in life and just being gratuitously hateful for no real reason. This shouldn't be the default setting but for some of you it obviously is.

Get off to https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies it's more tailored for you.

Bale hurt me the most. It’s strange isn’t it how even though he is exceptional if you don’t have that connection you just don’t. It’s a bit like Messi for me, I can appreciate how amazing he is but I don’t get the connection ppl seem to have with him. Always felt more connection with Son even though he isn’t as good as Kane.

This cap clearly fits me, but I’m still going to have a rant about completely pointless things every now and then 😂

Sheringham went to Man Utd, won everything with them in front of our faces and then came back to Spurs a few years later when he was too shit for Utd. He also said publicly at the time that he left to win trophies.

And Kane’s move has somehow annoyed you more? I find that a little bit weird in the context we’re speaking about.

He's telling some truth, but then you go deeper into details and "not winning 2 games isn't a disaster" is also on him when he was our best player and vice-captain. "It hurts watching other English players watching doing well in CL" but then you know our best CL run was when Kane was injured and then didn't play well in final or that he didn't score any non-penalty goals in 8 CL games last season.

I just love that some are criticising his Twitter activity and comparing it to other ex players. What the fuck have modern football fans become?

We had 10 seasons of him playing 10 games or more in the Prem, scoring 213 in 317. He's then left for over £100m.

Out of all the players to be bitter about, Kane isn't one of them.

He's a legend. A term I don't use lightly, except when referring to myself.

Bayern fans. They are the only fans thay matter, in terms of his time at Bayern.

It will be very interesting to see the narrative If/When that happens.

I have no idea what Bayern fans think or say in general so I won't pretend to know any better, but I'm assuming they've said this already?

As far as I'm concerned he's now an England player who doesn't play for my team. I will always support him for England but not far any league team.

Every time I have a peek on Twitter it reminds me why I try and avoid it.

There seems to be real confusion about his statement. Lots of people are saying ‘well the fans think it’s a disaster if we lose 2 in a row’ or ‘he didn’t do anything in finals’ etc but I personally think it’s quite obvious he means the press, not the players, see it as a disaster.

There are a handful of teams in the world that are expected to win every single game they play. We aren’t one of them. No one, including our own fans, expects us to win at any of the top 6 away from home. So if we lost 2 or 3 in a row against the likes of them, then it isn’t a disaster, he is absolutely correct. If Madrid or Barca or Bayern lost twice against anyone in their league, the press will be calling for the manager’s head etc. And the fans to an extent as they’re used to winning all the time.

This is so not a dig at Spurs as much as it is bigging Bayern up. Yes ideally he shouldn’t have mentioned us at all but we’re the only team he knows and can use from experience. We don’t even know if the interviewer mentioned us directly (eg, what’s the difference between Bayern and Spurs).

And just because he was part of the leadership pack, that means nothing. Do you think he stood there and said ‘it doesn’t matter if we lose 2 games’ or do you think he said something more along the lines of ‘we need to try and win every game we play’. Of course it’s the latter. His mentality is elite, everything we know about his lifestyle and training is perfect. A team of Kanes would probably have won us the league. He has been consistent throughout his whole time at us. Imagine having no Kane throughout the Mourinho and Conte eras.

The stuff about Kane not showing up in finals. I mean, the CL final was his first game in 3 months. That was on Poch not Kane. All the other finals and semis, the main reason we got there in the first place was Kane’s goals and assists.

For me, he meant the press (and maybe social media). I’m quite sure he didn’t mean that he didn’t think it wasn’t a disaster personally. He’s an elite professional, every loss will hurt him. People must surely realise this.

My only criticism of him so far is that I do wish he’d acknowledge our start a little, maybe he will if we beat Arsenal. We’ll see. But he wouldn’t be risking the wrath of the Bayern fans if he did because obviously we’re in a different country. But he’s probably so focused on Bayern and a new life and the birth of his boy that he just doesn’t think or have time for all the social media rubbish.

Until he properly cusses us, which he hasn’t, I will follow his career and wish him the best and love him as a legend for us. He stayed a lot longer than others might’ve….
