i was thinking about Jol v. Arry the other day and remembered that Jol couldnt get Defoe and Keane to play together. I should be noted (IMO) that not only did Arry risk bringing them both back, but they hit it off as a partnership. My conclusion is that the guy is both bolder than Jol, as well as being a better coach. Oh, and if he gets us into the CL, trust me that EVERYONE on this site will love him.

It's a bit like all this stuff about Spurs being hated. That depends very much on who you mix with. At my age and still playing regularly in my 50s, and having a broad love and enthusiasm for the the game, along with a skepticism for what the press writes; I don't come across many hate Spurs whatsoever.

'Arry is quite well liked by spurs fans, in-fact write about how 'arry has changed spurs fans opinion on him from there being a lot of skeptism before he arived

Didn't like him (nor really rate him) until he went to Pompey for the 2nd time. Made some astute buys (mainly from us) and kept them up. Built a Pompey side that then won silverware and was playing AC Milan in the Uefa cup. Not only that but were extremely consistent in the league as well.

When Jol was here we had a charismatic guy, always honest and frank in the media. We lost that when Ramos arrived. We would perform poorly, Ramos would look on with that stupid bemused look on his face and then Poyet would be sent out to stumble over his post-match words.

With Ramos I think fans started to lose connection with the club. Harry has brought that back. He's extremely likable and knows how to build a team.

Absolutely right. There are similarities between BMJ and Arry, the main ones being their passion, openess and easy going nature with the media. I was gutted when Jol left and there were some dark times in the run up to his sackings and also throughout Ramos' reign (bar a couple of days!!). Under Arry it feels like we have got our Tottenham back!

When Ramos went, both my 21 year old and me were thrilled to bits. A English speaking manager who gets average players to hugely overperform. What the heck was he going to do with our players and money?

Well, now we are starting to see. 3rd after nine games. Even after losing to Chelski and Manure. Not too shabby.

As to his reputation, Harry is more your loveable kind of Del Boy character. Unlike, say, El Tel, more of the Great Train Costa Del Sol gold jingling bloke.

Jol I loved and always will. Especially for his "turn the Emirates into a carpark for Spurs new stadium" comment. And he did great things bringing our club back from the wilderness.

But Harry walking in and putting a bottle of Ketchup on the table in front of the players after Ramos' reign of dietary austerity is also one of those golden images.

I love them both. Be good to both.

Harry needs to square up to Wenger at the next Noth London derby and get a brother called Cock. Then he'll be held in the same regard as BMJ.
