he was offered but turned it down.
Well I hope he at least slept on it before deciding.

He will not be going out on loan from what is being said.If we don't plan on using him much, he should be above Mason and Carroll in the pecking order, there should be some decent clubs looking to take him on loan after this pre-season showing.
He was no 29 last season.Winks being no.29 and putting in a decent showing 2nd half (alongside the other pre-season games) shows Poch must have him in his thoughts for this season. Expect him to feature in the league cup and a lot of bench appearances.
Exactly. He was no 29 last season.
He was no 29 last season.
He's very european-like in his play. Zipping passes with ease and simplicity and asking for the ball2nd half we had a player dominating in the middle when we were with and without the ball. I kept asking myself, "Who is that? He's playing really well." It was Winks.
The dude was winning tackle after tackle and was zipping the ball around the park. He is ready to be off the bench and start in the cups.
How dare you. Winks is sexierI kept mixing him and Carroll up against Inter so I can't tell just how good of a game he had.

Biggest difference was in presence. Carroll was like a kid playing that game where you touch a person and that person has to touch one of the others. I mean, he was looking for space, which is good in one way, but he did not look like he was up for a fight in any way. Also, this may be speculatice, but where Kane and Mason looked assured of their place, he seemed a bit unsure, reminded me a bit of that photo in Baku where everyone except Townsend were smiling, but more subtle.I kept mixing him and Carroll up against Inter so I can't tell just how good of a game he had.
