Looks like he's ready to really push on this season. He overshadowed some pretty high profile players in Oz and acquitted himself very well. Has a nicely balanced all round skill set with no glaring weaknesses which you can't really say about most of his rivals.

When Carroll played we looked really good till about 60-70 minutes not sure why, maybe the team tired or he did I think we needed to bring on some muscle and energy to keep control but yes he moved the ball really well.
Wasn't that usually around the time Carroll was substituted?

Need to see how he does in the prem but there is something about him that just looks right. Quick over short distances, robust and good vision.

I would be more than happy to have Dier and Wanyama for the DM position, Dembele as first choice centre mid with Alli there if Dembele is out but Winks there for weaker team rotation. Keep Mason about the place to provide cover for both positions and our CM looks well sorted.

Think Poch sees Carrol as an AM and, IMO, he offers something different and I'd keep him about the places for cover.

There were games where Carroll played untill around 60, and we collapsed after he'd gone off.
Might just as well be because if changes the structure of midfield taking out someone like him.
But point is fair yes.

If that is a fair pattern to what happened, perhaps it is as much about who came on in his place, rather than just the fact he came off.

That may be too simplistic as well, but is anyone knowledgable enough to know who generally came on at that point?

I know that whenever Lamela went off we seemed to have a sharp decline in performance.

Looks busier than Bentaleb and is happy to mix up passing and dribbling. Also he's very quick into the tackle and terrier-like which I never thought Bentaleb was.

that basically sounds like the perfect midfielder for us!

Yeah, we'd best offer Carroll a new 100k per week contract pronto, as I've no doubt Barca, Real et al will be looking to sign him before the window closes. ;)

What i like it his positivity, touch, range of passing and the fact he rarely gives the ball away. Needs to get some first team action this season

He's sexy and going to be a star... My type. Love his maturity, seemed like the boys trusted him and gave the ball to him any chance they got.
