That would really suck.So are we just going to Hoover up all the HG talent?

up there with the 5mil plus onomah we offered for grealishWe surely can’t be stupid enough to bid £50m for both of them and think that’s a sensible offer …. oh wait …
Levy - "This is what I do for fun!"Both together contributed 23 goals 11 assists last season in PL for Leicester. IMO , 80m for both - bare minimum given their age & demand in market
50m for both ? We are wasting everyone’s time.
The thought of goals coming from other areas of the pitch/off the bench is a joyous one! Both together contributed 23 goals 11 assists last season in PL for Leicester. IMO , 80m for both - bare minimum given their age & demand in market

It makes perfect sense as a strategy. If you can have a collection of high quality HG players making up a bulk of your starting squad, you can gamble more on younger prospects/lesser known players for the non-HG slots without choking up your squad registration in Europe. So are we just going to Hoover up all the HG talent?
Nice one Wenger!£50,000,001 it is then
Barnes is good. I've always been fairly impressed by him. He's got decent skill, knows where the goal is, has pace, and will cause a lot of problems running in behind.Barnes, for me, is one of those players you assume is 19 and has potential and then suddenly is 25 - no where near the england team and personally don't feel is he good enough.
feels like the easy purchase because LC got relegated.
he is a very different player to Son - Barnes is primarily a wide man not a traditional winger as such (are there any left) its an area of the pitch where we are desperately lacking he would make an awful lot of sense and would potentially make a very decent signingConcerned we’re mostly being linked with players where there’s a perceived deal to be had.
If we really see Barnes as succession to Son then perfect, but if we’re just offering because they were relegated and the owners are checked out, then we’re still just looking at the numbers primarily and not what will make us more competitive on the pitch.
Barnes is decent but I’m not sure if Son leaves in a year or two that we’re any better off and more likely to challenge for trophies.
If the club feel that Barnes is a player to take us up a notch, I’m all for it, but this kinda comes across as more of a deal than first team improvement.
Yeah exactly, considering the England squad had foden… grealish and rashford LW.Barnes is good. I've always been fairly impressed by him. He's got decent skill, knows where the goal is, has pace, and will cause a lot of problems running in behind.
Being nowhere the England squad is no indication of talent. The England squad is as much about hype, and nepotism, as talent.
While famously it didn't quite work with Villa for Grealish, i tend to think Levy is usually pretty good at smelling blood in the water & doing cheap deals with clubs in financial trouble (Richarlison deal came for nowhere and done in 48hrs when Everton needed cash, the most recent example).
As for the two players, i'd be very happy to see either/ both in a Spurs shirt so worth a double punt.
Richarlison was known for ages and we over paid at 60m. Levy pulled off vdv and fucked up way more than he delivered since then. The grealish one is the beacon of his incompetence in the market. While famously it didn't quite work with Villa for Grealish, i tend to think Levy is usually pretty good at smelling blood in the water & doing cheap deals with clubs in financial trouble (Richarlison deal came for nowhere and done in 48hrs when Everton needed cash, the most recent example).
