Expecting seven wins from seven games was unrealistic, especially with the mounting tension and pressure.

However the same applies to Arsenal and Leicester so we shouldn't lose hope yet.
& that was probably the toughest of them

We sort of were before the West Ham game. That was the point when it was effectively out of Leicester's hands and the bookies had us as favourite.
Bah, we came close to coming close, that's all. Stating the obvious, but you have to be 1st to win. If you haven't even been 1st all season, I fail to see how anything was lost. To me so far, we are succeeding in being 2nd, not failing in being 1st.

if leicester win today then yes .Given the amount of games left the difference between 5 points and 7 is huge. Our first job is to secure top 4 and then see where we are.

Leicester have WH, Man Ure, Chelsea and Everton to play. This season is far from over.

Leicester have the lead and if they keep winning there's nothing we can do to stop them being champions. Likewise, we can't be stopped from finishing second ahead of the scum. If we can claim second place we'll all be sad that we only just missed out but let's not forget where we started from. I never thought we'd be second when the season began, I'd have been delighted to scrape fourth place to get champions league football. We're improving so fast as a club a champions league place may even seem like a disappointment. It shouldn't be, if we keep improving like this there will be a title or two in the years to come.

After this weekends results it's looking more unlikely than it was 48 hours ago but it's clearly not over full stop.

If we beat Utd and Leicester lose away to Sunderland next weekend I bet someone starts a thread saying, it's back on, or maybe we are back in the frame, or have Leicester started to bottle it ????

If winning away at Liverpool was necessary to win the league then I would hardly say we were ever in a position to "blow" something. That is a tough ask.

I would always have taken 4 points from the Liverpool and Man United games. If we beat United, then I think we are still in it.

Leicester will drop points to W Ham, Man United and Chelsea. I can even see them dropping points this week and that sending them into a spin, dropping all 9 points against those three. Ok, perhaps that was a bit optimistic but....

It frustrates the hell out of me that we're so close yet so far away from coming 1st in the Premiership. However if someone had said to me at the beginning of the season we'd finished in 2nd or 3 rd place I would have thought them crazy.
An excellent season so far and hopefully one where we break the armlock that arse anal have had over us ever since arse wipe became their manager

I never expected us to finish behind Leicester when the season began.

In the period between August 8th and October 24th we played 9 league games. Lost 1, drew 5 and won only 3. Harry Kane scored once (from a penalty?). However magnificent Kane´s season have been since October 25th, he was simply "not there" for the first 2,5 months of the season. The failing of signing a decent back up striker last summer is what blew our chances.

Saying that, Leicester can still drop points, and we´re still contenders. All is not lost.

I think the thing that frustrates people if we finish second is that we would have finished second to Leicester - and there is the sense of missing out as we 'should' be finishing above them in any normal season. If we were second behind city or Chelsea people would view it differently. But we have to remember we are as close to 4th as we are to first

We blew it by not beating Leicester at home, and by only getting one point off West Ham and Arsenal.

And Stoke, Everton twice, Swansea and WBA. Don't forget losing to Newcastle. Starting the season off with a loss and 3 draws could haunt us.
