Help please !

hi guys

I will be in Portugal from the 17th - 27th August which means I will miss both legs of the CLQ and Stoke away. I wont have access to internet out there due to being in a festival. So I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction how I would be able to listen to the game? Is there any special radios I can buy here so I can listen to English radio abroad? :bang:

yep the CL games may be on somewhere over there - tho not necessarily - as there might be portugese games, spanish games, etc being covered - a lot depends on how 'anglocentric' the place is

if you're in the algarve you'd probably find a place somewhere, but more 'portugese portugal' mmm, not so sure - some googling is best as normal

re the radio - again our friend google is the best bet - but from what i remember there's long wave, short wave, medium wave, DAB

now i assume five live will cover our games - however may be on five live xtra, bbc london too

which frequencies you'll be able to pick depends on the on coverage in portugal - your radio etc

i think you'll need a fair bit of researching to do, and even then my experience of picking up radio signals from england abroad is that it's very patchy

world service can be one of the best

but all of our stations may be 'knocked out' by local stations hitting similar frequencies

so good luck with your research

i'll be amazed if you get live radio commentary on the stoke game over there - but hey who knows

I've managed to get a sketchy 5 Live signal in NW Spain, but not Portugal. Mobile Phone updates via the beeb etc?
