I don't really know much about this guy but want us to sign him just to get another player from under the nose of Liverpool. We are their Chelsea.

Just so you guys know, he's really good.

If we went with the 4-2-3-1 he'd play in the hole behind the striker.

Should we want to move to the 4-3-3 he could either function as the most advanced midfielder in the 3 or, should AVB get really creative, as a false 9.

When we were into Willian awhile back, I downloaded a bunch of Shakhtar matches and Mkhitaryan was always the hub of their attack. He's a brilliant player capable of playing just about any type of pass but he's also incredible adept at scoring, a real clinical finisher.

For Armenia he does play deeper in midfield as well. So, he does have a lot of versatility to his game.

The thing I don't understand is how we would spend 39m on Paulinho/Mkhitaryan.

might just be trying to drive up the price to put it beyond Liverpool; THE DARK ARTS

How on earth do you even pronounce that name?

Mick-uh-terri-in. At least that's how I say it.

This was actually a match for Armenia when he played deeper at times than he does for Shakhtar. As you will see though, he's a really versatile player that can function across multiple positions. Just from this alone you can see him dropping deep, as the advanced midfielder pretty much a false 9 and even on each wing.

can he play on the left of front three in 4-3-3 ??

but i think Shakhtar are demanding 25m :))

Honestly, he probably could. He really could function as a false 9, too. He's just a well-rounded player that is going to do well where ever he goes. Pace, power, skill, vision. There's a reason why he costs that much. For my money he's better than Willian.

sounds like a very good player but no way we're paying 25m for anyone :(

Seems strange that we would sign someone who has excelled playing the false 9 when that is where Bale excelled last season. Unless...

----------------- Sandro --------------------
------ Paulinho --------- Dembele --------
Bale ----------- Henrikh ----------- Villa

Bringing Paulinho into attack for some physicality, Henrikh/Bale/Villa as a very fluid front 3 and Dembele/Sandro keeping the attack ticking over by playing the ball to the playmakers.

I think it's the agent spreading lies to bump up the price. He has also third party ownership issue.

This is not gonna happen

I find that strange with his current club being Shaktar. I would have expected them to have bought out any third party owners when they signed him. It may explain, however, why he appears to be available now (the third party owners need some money ?)

This "news" regarding Armenian Henrik Mkhitaryan (this is how he really spells his name, btw: Հենրիխ Մխիթարյան), who plays in Ukraina and is wanted by and English club....is reported by the Italian Sky....
I remember Osvaldo Ardiles in his time tried make field starting line-ups entirely made up of attacker while George Graham tried to do it entirely with central defenders....so why not let Andre do it with midfielders ;)

Shakhtar's striker Mkhitaryan was in a London hotel earlier this week. He wasn't talking to Liverpool. Agent is Mino Raiola, who looks after Ibra and Mario. Very well connected to Baldini.
