Probably not allowed to play contact sport if you have HIV/AIDS.
i doubt that'll be the case, i expect that it'll be more the stigma and protests of other players that would stop anyone with HIV playing.

It would most certainly stop them playing at the highest level, i doubt there's any club whose medical would allow for something as serious and unpredictable as that, but we'll see i guess

With they treat head wounds and any sign of blood, I think there are procedures to stop the spreading of blood to blood diseases anyway (maybe hiv/aids is a exception that has its own rules)

That would be discrimination though, have you not seen Philadelphia? Besides, Big Sam would probably take a punt on them.

Yeah I do kinda think it wouldn't stop them playing unless footballers are generally too stupid to realise the risk of infection is minute, or so pea-brained that they're all prejudice fuckers.

I could see a number of players refusing to play against someone that they knew was HIV positive.

The majority would be OK, but there's bound to be one or two.

Thats what happened with Magic Johnson at first, then the players got used to the idea, then it was fine.

I reckon this must be the 'big story' that was going to break from a few weeks ago. The one that originally ended up being fat Kenny's drug ban.

Possibly, but then they're the ones who need to be kicked out of the game, not the ones who have been infected.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...rem-stars.html.

SIX Premiership stars are allegedly facing an agonising wait for the results of HIV tests - after all bedding the SAME girl.
It is reported the shocked players took the tests after being told a soccer groupie had found out she was infected.

She apparently had no idea whether she contracted the virus - which causes AIDS - before or after she slept with them all.

The stars, who it's claimed play for three different clubs, cannot be named for legal reasons.

A source said: "All of them are beside themselves with worry. They are all only too aware of the scandal it will cause.

"None of them have let their families know yet because they don't want to worry them.

"It's like a ticking timebomb for them all and would almost certainly end their careers if they have contracted it."

It is believed the infected girl hooked up with the stars after meeting them through her boyfriend. When she split up with him it's said she slept with them over several months.

The girl then apparently found out she was HIV positive when she got back together with her boyfriend and had a test.

She is then believed to have immediately told all her sexual partners she was suffering from the virus that attacks the body's immune system.

Well, she kind of must have known after, right? At some point.

Bloody Sun.

Nah, Nicko confirmed he was talking about Paddy Kenny. He was thinking the Play-Offs would have to be replayed and so forth.

On the guessing games, even ignoring the fact that we can't speculate, it's nonsense as the players are all close anyway. I have absolutely no idea and have heard no rumours, so taking four of our players at random, just look at the fact that Keano is good mates with Gerrard, Bale has mates at Southampton still, Chimbonda was up in Sunderland last season and Hutton is Scottish. You only have to see those tabloid shots of footballers out on the town to see club/location boundaries don't mean much.

Any news yet?

I've seen rumours of seven names (4 from 1 club). She had sex with 6 guys while having a break from the 7th one.

It's not a minute risk though is it and regardless of the risk the potential consequences are awful .

A ex-heavyweight boxer who is a State boxing commissioner had a Brother die of this disease and he pushed through regulations to prevent someone HIV positive competing .

Most of the footballers out there have families , wives and girlfriends even boyfriends .

Those third parties have a right to protected against the possibility of their love ones contracting it on the football pitch unwittingly and giving it to them .

If you think that is prejudiced and pea-brained then open your eyes .

See, it's this blind fear of HIV that people need to get their heads around. It's dangerous, yes, but unless you're talking open wound to open wound, drinking the others blood or possibly gallons of their seamen or saliva, do you realise how hard it would be for someone to contract HIV from someone they play football with? Christ, even if they did skin their knee, the chances of cross-infection are pretty slim frankly.

You might say, "I don't want to take even that tiny risk", but don't think about other potentially fatal diseases and illnesses that can be spread far more easily because they don't carry the stigma of HIV.

Aside from that, honestly, how many blood-wounds do you see in football now anyways? Not that many and, seeing as any blood injury appears to warrant being removed from play until it's cleaned up now, what's the harm??

Lets not start knee-jerking at HIV sufferers just because we're concerned about something that might happen, following a series of other possible occurances - christ, we might all get wiped out by a massive, AIDS infested labrador army by the end of the year, who knows? It's always a risk... ;)

What are the chances of infection?

So, even if they dropped trou' and decided to dock right there in the centre circle, even as the bitch, there's only a 5-1000 chance of you contracting his pre-AIDS shenanigans
