But Walcott and Chamberlain are?

Poor start Roy. Chamberlain has hardly played and Walcott is vastly overrated and has been poor this year.

Quite possible the worst strike force I have ever seen. Carroll and our very jermain, along with Welbeck and our only world class player Rooney who is banned for the first 2 games. Poor!!!

Stewart Downing. It's like this squad has been picked by all the aging media morons who are still obsessed by players former reputations. Downing had no goals and no assists in 30 odd matches this season. Feel sorry for quite a few players from lesser clubs.

Better he doesn't go and get another injury. He needs the summer off. However, the Downing selection is ridiculous. I said to myself I won't get on Roy's back before we even play a game, but Downing is awful.

That squad is an absolute disgrace to be honest & it just goes to show that the FA choose managers who are just clones of the last one, the following shouldnt be anywhere near the squad:

Green - Foster or even Robinson should be there.
G Johnson - How the hell is this bloke in the squad? He is absolutely shocking. Micah Richards must wonder how sh*t he is!
P Jones - Had a pretty cr*p season, even my Man U mates admit that. Im bias but isnt Caulker playing regularly in the Prem in one of the best defences in the league.....oh yeah I forgot he doesnt play for Utd.
Milner - HOW?????? He has barely played all season???? Lennon should be miles ahead of him!
Downing - HOW x 10,000????? He is possibly the most overrated player in the prem currently. Adam Johnson should be in!
Chamberlain - Seriously come on, he has played a handful of games and has look alright in them! Nathan Dyer or Scott Sinclair should be ahead of him.
Lampard - Fat Frank shouldnt be in the side, he hasnt done it for us before and wont now. Carrick should have been in!
Carroll - HAHAHAHAHA! Enough said! Crouch, Holt, Graham are all better than him in simple terms.
Defoe - Sturridge should be ahead of him.

Sorry old Woy but you have just signed your own Resignation when we go out in the Group Stages.....

What a joke. Same old shit. The good ol' boys who've failed to do anything worthwhile for England in years. I can understand Walcott (decent season), Oxlade-Chamberlain (promising second choice) and Young, but Downing?!?!

Yep.

As for Downing - I've shat more talented stuff than him. Madness.
Can't agree more buddy. Am talking from a Spurs supporters selfish point of view. As long as our players remain healthy for a good pre-season that will do us nicely. After all who gives a shit about England. Have'nt the FA done us over and over so as to keep the 'big 4'clubs intact? Should have said EX 'big 4' as chelscum and the bindippers are gone now. COME ON YOU BAYERNISCHERS!!

Couldn't care less but if England think they will win the Euros with that pile of sh*t then the bigwigs and Roy are sadly deluded. No Lennon is good for us but not for Aaron, Lumplard never plays well for you and as for the keepers if your no1 gets injured well I do not know. Agree with the poster on Sturridge before our Defoe. WTF with Henderson & Downing weren't they partly responsible for the bindippers poor season

Henderson and Downing should be nowhere near the squad, Lennon should be first choice and Adam Johnson first back-up for RM. I also think Richards should be the RB (he's better than Walker - for now) and really can't see how Jones AND Johnson make the cute ahead of him. How Carroll can get the nod beats me even with the limited competition - Crouch ahead of him every day of the week for me and probably Holt as well. Funny that Foster's not in it, can't rate him, then, I reckon? Robinson I hope has said no as I cannot believe how Green could be ahead of just about anyone for the squad. I would also have been tempted to put Carrick in there for Gerrard or Milner, but I can understand that he's gone for the experience and the potential for magic. Oh, and Terry's just full of shit..

It's good from a Tottenham point of view and that's all that matters to me.
It's not. Kyle Walker is now going to be picked for the Olympics and will miss our CL play-off (if we get it). Plus this is right at the start of the summer, it won't make our players tired. It's a great experience and a test that enables players to develop.

I think it was a case of Walcott v Lennon. They are both similar, hog the right flank. Chamberlain offers something different. However, I think Adam Johnson is similar to Chamberlain and he has always played well for England, so would have chosen him.

With Ferdinand and Richards, it seems choices have been made because of politics rather than football reasons. Dropping Richards instead of Terry doesn't reflect well on the FA.

For me:
Lennon over Walcott
A Johnson over Chamberlain
Crouch over Carroll
Bent over Welbeck
Richards over G Johnson

Agree with most of your points apart from these three. Foster is retired from international football and well I guess Robinson would've been good but to be honest, other than Hart no matter who is selected for GK, they are crap compared to him.

Lampard I thought prior to 2010 world cup should not go but I dunno he has shown some signs of being back to his best in recent months, I think he is a safe squad option to perhaps rotate with Gerrard who will most likely sit in front of Parker and Barry.

Sturridge ahead of Defoe? Have you watched Daniel Sturridge in the past 6 months? He has completely lost it, started the season on fire but has been so frustrating since, can't see any reason why he should be in the squad. Defoe will get goals, heck he was the only bright thing about Englands 2010 wc group stage games.

Actually I guess the more United, City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool players being kept busy this summer, the better it is for us.

Great squad Woy (y)
