How good would we be if we have bale and modric in this team?

Was browsing youtube and this video came up, watched it and got reminded on how ridiculously good bale was. I've never felt like this for any player before, knowing that no matter how late in the game, as long as he gets the ball, we will score.

And that made me wonder, we keep saying "we need an AM that can dribble and score" , "we need a CM that can make the midfield tick, push the attack forward" , imagine we have bale and modric in our squad currently, will we be fighting for CL title? Contender every year? i personally think we will be one of the top 4 teams in the world, alongside barca, real, bayern. The line up will probably look something like this

----------------kane
whoever-----bale---lamela
---------modric--wanyama/dier
rose---verts-------toby---walker

or

----------------kane
bale-----------------------lamela
----dembele-------modric--
----------wanyama/dier
rose---verts-------toby---walker

good lord.

We've had this before. We gotta remember we had VDV, Bale and Modric in the same team. We lost Carrick, Berbatov, Modric, Bale but now we have an even better squad. Bale and Modric we done well to keep them that long, world class players

Walk it, but if we'd kept Carrick or Berbatov or whoever then we wouldn't have the squad we have now and a brand new stadium on the way. It's a shame we were a selling club when the big boys called. Fortunately we have a squad and manager who want to be there and push us on to the big boys table. We'll get there and hopefully start winning things.........:)

Pretty fair I'd say. Zakora would be the cherry on the top though.

I wrote an algorithm to calculate how much better we'd be with them in the team. The answer was exactly 67.3% better...

True story...

Some of his goals though, wow. Amazing. I'm surprised he wore the number 3 jersey for so long even after it was clear he was more than a left back, I admit to getting that one wrong myself. Incredible to see his transformation really looking at his first goal to his last, physically became an absolute beast. And his dribbling, shooting with both feet and heading were/are a problem for most defences.

If the great Moussa Sissoko can't even get in this squad Bale wouldn't stand a chance.

We've never found a Modric replacement (have we even come close?) it's hurt us ever since IMHO, Bale i'd argue wasn't as an important part of the overall jigsaw. (I'm not saying i wouldn't have him back :D )

My kingdom for an Modric and an VDV in January (also if anyone's spotted a young GK that we can snaffle before we're stuck with Vorm as first choice then that'd be splendid)

I've just checked wiki Luka has still played fewer games for RM than he did for us, i was quite surprised but i'm also feeling violated in that Madrid tickled Levy's hoop for the same (reported) fee as what we payed for Sissoko (market forces i know but still) that's just not badminton is it!

Depends on who was managing them & our club. If it's a manager who's obsessed with sideways passing & athletes over flair then it would be pretty much the same as it is right now. If it was some one like that buck toothed twat @ LFC or Sampoli @ Sevilla then the sky's the limit!

I see that Harry is on about players that he tried to sign whilst he was Spurs manager. I get a distinct feeling of deja vu as I am sure that he's told us of at least half a dozen players that he nearly signed:

http://talksport.com/football/liste...suarez-and-eden-hazard-tottenham-161128218671

He's lying about Suarez. We've been told many times by JJ and other ITK that Harry wasn't interested because Sherwood/Ferdinand didn't rate him and Moyes said he's too similar to VDV so there was no point in signing him.

Hazard blantantly just strung us and other clubs along until he got the best deal available. And there was no chance that we could match whatever Chelsea threw at him.

True about Suarez. Hazard may well have signed for us had CFC not fluked that CL..

‘It’s true that Tottenham tempted me because it was a young team which was third in the league,’ Hazard told Tuesday’s France Football.

‘Unfortunately, the end of the season did not go well. They did not reach the Champions League, which tipped the balance

That last minute Drogba goal in Munich cost us not only CL but Modric, Bale (ultimately) and Hazard - hmmm
