Every time I watch Madrid he's not playing?

Didnt come on against Barcelona at the weekend or in the CL match against Ajax unless I missed something?

Are Madrid now so rich they're buying £30m bench warmers?

Period of adaptation.

He'll be fine once he settles and adapts to their style of play and once he gets used to not receiving the ball at will.

I know some want to see him fail but he'll become an even better player.

He's already a success, within 7 minutes of playing for them he lifted a trophy.

Kaka seems to be ahead of him to replace Ozil as a sub at the moment. Thing is, I think Modric would be better in CM for them, haven't they only replaced Ozil with him so far when he has come on?

Ozil is easily the best CAM in world football, such incredible awareness, why can't he be a boyhood Spurs supporter:(

He made a real name for himself because he pushed his way into our team at CM and was incredible. All his brilliant eye catching performances were from that position and now he's gone and the Special one see's him playing more advanced.

Now who am I to argue with Mr Mourhinho but surely the best way to play for them is:

Modric* - Alonso
Di Maria - Ozil - Ronaldo
Benzema
*Licence to roam

We know from his time with us that Modric can bottle it when he's got a clear chance on goal and that if he needs to shoot from outside the box, he can fizz one in with the accuracy of a shaken up 2L bottle of coke complete with a mento inside. One shot in 50 will hit the back of the net and the Spaniards should work that out soon enough.

I want to see him do well, I really think he should be playing as Real's 'Xavi/Iniesta' type player though. Only then will we see him back to his best.

Yes, he needs to be the "link" to fulfill his potential. He's not an old school "luxury player" who you can allow to be quiet for most of the game and then he'll provide you with a moment of magic. He's not that player. He needs to be involved. And then, throughout that involvement, you'll get those moments.

He was absolutely outstanding last night vs. Wales. Played in the middle of a 4-4-2 next to Milan Badelj (who was also very good). On paper, a very light-weight central midfield pairing. Particularly in that type of formation. But they ran the show.

At Madrid he has a plethora of great players to play off of. They don't "need" him. But he can definitely help. And in order to do so, if they intend on maximizing his ability, they need to get him more involved in the build-up.

in the games i've watched(which i think is all of them) he's been among their best performers, jose must be easing him in.

Dont be surprised if he doesn't succeed there, vdv, sneijder, robbed and kaka are just some examples off top drawer players that didn't work out for them, plus they don't really need him for a deep mid position alonso's better than him and for an attacking mid ozil's better tan him
