Mesut Ozil. The most overated player in world football.

Luka Modric and Kaka are much better players. I actually think Ozil is the worst central midfielder Real Madrid have and I watch them every week. I'd take Alonso, Modric, Khedira, Essien and Kaka over him anyday.

No. The most overated player in world football is Di Maria. I don't understand why he is so expansive.

When Croatia played Spain at the Euro's Modric was the best player on the pitch.
Xavi and Iniesta both asking for his shirt. Incredible talent, we were so lucky to have
him play for Spurs.

Crikey, i miss him!

One thing you often hear about Modric, whether it's on the training ground or in matches, is that "you can't get near him." And that's really true. Some players you can slow down by fouling, but Modric is usually clever enough to skip past those kinds of challenges and his ability to create space is truly special. I remember reading where youngsters like Bostock praised him for that. And it's always evident in matches, and clear from that clip vs. Spain, who are otherwise great at closing down.

And that outside of the boot ball to Rakitic. Absolutely perfect. Still haunts us today. Rakitic scored a header from a similar spot earlier this season for Sevilla and all it did was bring back hurtful memories.

Those who thought, and especially those who still think, that Modric was/is a "flop" at Madrid are completely off the mark.

Here's Darren Bent heaping some praise on Modric an backing-up that (underlined) point:
