The problem with the Europa League is the format, and there are far too many games. This is to accommodate the minnows you've never heard of, from countries you'd struggle to point to on a map.
Those on here old enough to remember the old UEFA Cup would have enjoyed many great European nights when we entertained many of the biggest clubs in Europe, but of course, back then, only the champions participated in the European Cup. So there was always a chance to meet Barca,Real, Bayern etc in the UEFA Cup.
Clearly the format of the Champions League wont change, as it perpetuates the virtuous circle for the ever present giants of Europe. Perhaps Levy and chairman of clubs like Liverpool, Everton etc should lobby UEFA, maybe via the Premier League or FA, to improve the format of the Europa, making it a much more attractive comp. for the fans and their clubs.
I think a knock-out competition like the FA Cup would make the Europa a lot more attractive, less games to tire the players, and hopefully a lot more enthusiasm from fans and clubs alike?

Spurs fans have fallen out of love with the competition because we do crap in the competition, if we get to the quarter final stage there will be interest. I always remember Fulham and Middlesbrough's run in the competition some years back. We aren't going to get in the champions league even if we are out of the competition. We need to make the best of the opportunity that we are given and try and win the thing if we enter. I expect the manager of spurs to try and win every competition we enter, if he hasn't got a winning mentality, how can he expect the players to have a winning mentality.

It's obvious that competing in the Europa League does affect the team's E.P.L. performance; and that, combined with the criticisms of the E.L.(as outlined by chico above), means Spurs should:
-Stay in the E.L. but use it for experience in the case of the younger players and those players who are not getting regular games.(a la Redknapp).
This would hopefully increase ticket revenue - even if attendance were to drastically drop - and, maybe more importantly keep the overall squad used to the idea of playing in both Europe and the E.P.L.
I have to also say that not qualifying is not really an option.

Think the fa need to help english teams in the Europa league like other fa's do, for eg in say spain. If you play Europa then you should get Monday night football matches at the least, not this Thursday sunday nonsense.. This isn't helping the english teams

No problem with the Europa League and have had some amazing away trips. It's the playing league games on a Sunday that I have no interest in.
Atmosphere is poor in the ground, no one really wants to be there, can't really have a few beers as have work the next day.
Where as Saturday 3pm game, everyone gets up for it and that is transferred to the players and performances.

I'm sure "Howuropean" isn't a legal contraction. There definitely must be an ' in there.

We were the pioneers in winning European competitions and I'd love us to do it many times over.

So if i get your drift, 36,000 Spurs fans turn up on a Sunday for a game they don't want to be at?

At times this season i have been at games where the atmosphere has been soulless and that had bugger all to do with the day of the week the game was played on.

If your drinking that much that you cannot make work the next day then you need a trip to AA and not WHL i think.

Everyone would rather be there on a Saturday afternoon rather than a Sunday.

Don't have to be hammered but still easier to have a few when havent got to get up for work the next day.

What a load of moralistic bullshit.

The biggest problem is CL drop outs. Those poor souls already make more money for being in the CL but then they have to be given a chance to win more by joining another competition half way through.
