Seriously, just let him go to a serie a side and stick a big sell-on clause, he'll explode over there and they'll be able to sell him for massive money later on.

I am sure he was one of the main players Harry was taking a wipe at when he signed Palacios and crticised the fact that none of the current side put a tackle in.

Jenas has really upped his work-rate since coming back into the side (possibly following Wilson's example), and unless Hudd can put together some sort of game-plan of how he is going to play when the other team has the ball he is always going to struggle to get into a 442.

inaccurate. Jenas' work rate is top, it always was. last year no one in the whole league had a higher average distance covered per game than JJ. If anything, Palacios being next to him and performing well should see JJ's average dsitacne covered reduced and his energy put into improving other areas of his game.

I said a while ago that I thought Huddlestone will never really make it as a top player for us, he may well be able to do well else where I just have thought for sometime that he will never be able to make the step up to do what we need him to week in week out.

The Signing of Palacios has only served to reinforce my opinion on this matter.

I think he should have been loaned out to keep fresh and prove his worth (either to come back and fight for his place or to raise his value for a sale)

If he really is moaning about not playing then we might as well sell him, he must know in truth that right now he is not worth a place in our starting 11 and unless he is willing to fight for it he might as well do one to a smaller club where he can be a big fish and have them build a team around him to make him look good.

Its difficult to see O'Hara and Huddlestone at the club for the long term. O'Hara could stay, because he loves the club. But with Jenas, Palacios and Zokora ahead of him, his chances are limited. As are Huddlestones. And with Bostock and Parrett not too far from getting more involved with the first team squad, it wouldn't surprised me if one or two of those are sold soon. I'd be happy to see us replace Huddlestone with a better holding midfield player.

He’s right. He didn’t come here to be in the reserves… what manger would want a player with ambition to say otherwise? He praised the team and said he’d stay fit and fight for a place. can’t see an issue with what he’s said at all.

In his last game he was great at CB, really top display in the UEFA cup that Harry made reference to in the post match interview. I’m not sure if Harry will ever consider him a regular starter but I’d be confident in him to be considered a regular match day squad member. Even if Harry is unsure he’s admitted recently to three players that have changed his mind (Modric, BAE and Gnomes) so there’s a way back with twitchy… unless you’re capello.

Not perosnally but it was posted last season by SS57 i think. it was pretty well known in these parts in the JJ threads, which is why i was surprised and reacted to the last post. I'm sure this will get picked up on and some kind soul will pop a link up for me.

To be honest, I'd like to see Huddlestone in the centre with Palacios and try that out before writing him off and selling him to benefit a rival team.

I think Palacios's work rate, aggression and tackling, combined with Huddlestones vision and passing ability would compliment eachother very well, and be a good partnership to challenge or be an alternative to Jenas and Palacios.

Sell this boy at our peril. Him alongside Palacios would be awesome and please can the Jenas YMCA not jump on me. Not questioning Jenas in anyway.

I was not not talking about OPTA distance run workrate, he has always had excellent lung-power. I have seen a difference in JJ the last 8 matches or so, he is not playing within himself, he is going in strong to challenges and generally looking like a proper midfielder. Passing could still get better mind...:)

Yep, Burnley players were going past him like he was a statue in the semi-second leg, it was frankly embarrassing, and he should have thought so himself.

I do like watching him play, but either Harry has got to build a team around him (probably not going to happen when we have Modric) or he has to go somewhere else to get 1st team football.

Whilst I don't disagree with you and others, saying that he can't play in a 2 man midfield, and he is by-passed to easily, ie Burnley.
I totally agree, he is best suited to a 3 man midfield, which would be ideal.

In my opinion though, I think that Huddlestone could work with Palacios in a 2 man midfield, as I think Palacios's work rate and the fact he covers so much ground, could make up for Huddlestones lack of.
I would like to at least give it a try to rule either way if it works or not.
