in the top tier when pace is one of the most important factors where does he fit in? yes he can pass and he does have a good shot although he rarely uses it but his tackling is poor and his lack of agility and pace is shocking. i genuinely believe he can have a better career in italy then he can in england. he will never be considered a good premiership player in england yet he seems perfect for a slower league where his technical ability will be appreciated more then it is in england.

Yes, toss-up between him and El Bento for MOTM. Diddy-A had a very decent game too.

Hudd played excellently but I was really impressed with Zokora tonight. Maybe because he got more time on the ball than normal but he was very cool and had excellent movement. He never made a pass without making space to give it back to him and whenver Bale or Hutton got stuck up field he filled in their positions on the counter attack.

A good game for both

watching tonight, it dawned on me, and admitedly, i'm not the quickest. Could Didi and Thudd be the midlfield partnership we've been looking for? Didi's mobility and Thudd's vision certainly looked the part tonight...

in midfield he should only play wide right (instead of bentley), wide left (lennon), or the float (modric).. in a deep midfield 2 hudd is a severe liability against any quick, skillful or hardworking team.

amazing goal tonight

He usually does play well in Europe. Once he starts putting in this level of performance consistently in the league we can start thinking we've got a player.

It looked great tonight because we were playing a shitty team.

They would never work in the league.

Also, Modric was with them in midfield tonight, in a 4-5-1, so...

Yeah, Dinamo Zagreb were poor tonight. I thought they'd offer us a much sterner test. We were coasting most of the time.

He could potentially be one of the greatest midfielders in the world. I truly believe that. Play him further forward and he can destroy teams. Probably the best technical English player in the Prem. We are lucky to have him and have Redknapp developing him.

In a 4-5-1, possibly. In a 4-4-2 they were pretty disastrous.

Huddlestone was excellent today.

We all know his passing and shooting can be phenomenal, but what pleased me was the other aspects of his game. He worked and ran hard, he wasnt afraid to get forward, he pressed, harassed and tackled, he was even happy to break with the ball. Top notch stuff. Lets hope it continues

Here we go again - Hudd is quality - in 5 years time, barring injury, he will be superb. It's likely that there will be some games where he doesn't shine. Gazza had games where he misfired. So did Hoddle. And Zidane. and,and,and........

Europe and International football suits some more than others, and I think that will be the case for Hudd. But I also believe (hope?) that he'll deliver quality more and more frequently in the Prem as he matures. I don't think it's a coincidence that Bent has looked the part more as Harry has been playing our Tom regularly. He was MOM tonight for me, and it's tough not to pick the hat trick scorer - but Huddlestone's performance was memorable.

Yes he did look good tonight, but Dinamo gave him so much time on the ball it was untrue, unlike in the Premier League where there is someone always snapping at his heels. If teams give him time to look up he will play devasting through balls...

If Hudd had pace, he'd be amongst the very best midfielders in the Premier league. As it stands, some games will pass him by if the other team have a quality midfield, like 'Pool at the weekend. You can probably get away with a lack of pace & energy in defence if you have a great footballing brain/awareness (Adams) but not in midfield. Scholes & Fabregas for example aren't the quickest but they're constantly on the move for 90 minutes and are almost impossible to mark.

Hudd's made for European football & i hope he turns into the midfielder we all want him to be in the next few years. What a goal.

I completly agree and I think it speaks volumes for how crap Ramos was that he didnt play him... Look how much he has done since hes been back in the team...
