I dont know why Chelsea would be after him after buying the Egyptian, both play as right inside forwards. I know Hulk can also play upfront but even so i dont know why they would want him or need him really.

To be honest, that kind of thing has been said a few times regarding Chelsea, then the next day they sign the player.

Be very surprising for Chelsea to sign him, but as @tiger666 said, Chelsea do just stockpile players. And any transfers from Russia, it seems like Roman has lots of fingers in pies.

True, but I would still think it would be an odd one even by Chelsea's standards, he would cost a pretty penny as well. Haven't actually seen any new stories on him for a while though so he could be here for a holiday, unlikely I know, but moving to Chelsea would be a crazy move for everybody.

Looking at his trajectory in recent years I'd guess he's into other things than developing as a footballer. Money, for instance. I'm also pretty sure any big money deal involving Chelsea and someone in Russia could be used for other financial purposes as well, hence why something like this could happen even if it doesn't make sense by footballing reasons..
