Strange, they are doing as well as could be expected. Should have had a point against Arsenal.

On tv you mean?! if so, i wouldn't know as some of us have work

Some of us don't have illness that prevents them from working

Although he was odds on yesterday to be the next manager sacked, you might well be right.

And there it is now.

Who is available that would A, take that job and B, save them?

Brown is a victim of his own success imo.

Curbishley is the bookies favourite atm. I always thought Newcastle should have appointed him rather than Shearer to keep them up.

Yeah, gardening leave - who reckons he's been caught entertaining the advances of another club? Does sound slightly fishy, though they do acknowledge the superb job he's done whilst he's there.

Maybe he lost the dressing room? Notice some of the players have been getting a bit shirty, few mentions of friction in the squad, who knows.

Bullard and Barmby had a bit of a scrap the other day on the Humber bridge apparantly.

Bullard and Barmby had a bit of a scrap the other day on the Humber bridge apparantly.

To which Brown answered "It happens on the training ground on a regular basis, under the control of the club, but it seems to have got out this time."

Seems a strange way to run a club, I would certainly hope our players aren't fighting with each other all the time, it can't do much for club or player morale.

you gotta feel that with the Bullard / Barmby situation there are some problems in the dressing room...

they must feel it was something that had to be done

I heard that Tom Cairney has an injunction against Brown, don't know why though. Gerry Francis could be made interim manager, hah.

It happens a lot more than you'd think. About a month ago Rafinha and Rakitic squared up to one another in practice (for Schalke) and Magath just stood there and laughed.

So if it's ok with Magath, it's ok with me.

That said, understandably there are variations in severity. But the point remains that altercations aren't uncommon in football trainings. And what happens in the "heat of the moment" doesn't necessarily speak to the overall team morale.
