Anyone heard anything? is he likely to be fit for the Everton game?

I purely ask as he's in my fantasy team, otherwise Hutton/Corluka.. meh

We'll find out tomorrow. Not really too bothered, as I think Corluka and Lennon work much better together.

Playing Lennon with Charlie means that Lennon doesn't have to leave his comfort zone. The lad really needs to work on his movement.

Love him going forward but scares the pants off me when he backs off attackers.
Time to sell him while his stock is high and with Charlie, Kaboul & Walker [recalled from QPR] we wouldnt really miss him

He's a good player, but seriously lacks defensively. I'd LOVE to see Kaboul get more game time at RB.

Amazing, Hutton comes in for Corluka who hadn't been playing particularly well and does an excellent job. Now he's out injured and Corlika's back, motivated and playing like he never left the side. What a great squad we have. No wonder we're contenders for the Premier league.

I also think Kaboul at RB has a lot of appeal and was a key contributor in the Man City game of last year. That being said I'm sure he'll say his natural position is at CB and the majority agree he has flourished there.

It's hard to argue to drop Hutton but if he's out for a prolonged period then it may be something Harry would give consideration to, particularly if we have a full quota of CB's available.

Dont take this the wrong way people, because I love Benni, Hutton Charlie and the like but.....

Sometimes I wish we would play Bassong left back and Kaboul Right back, in the way Houllier did for Liverpool during the good years for them.

We are sometimes caught short when teams stick a big lad on Benni or Hutton and play the diagonal. See the brum equaliser as an example of this.

Would we really lose anything going forward doing this?

Yes we would, playing 4 cb's would be a disaster imo, benny and hutton offer alot going forward.

corluka certainly does have a better eye than hutton for playing lennon into space.

Hutton has really impressed me this last few months but i think i prefer charlie with lennon, when he came on he did what he used to do and find that impossible pass for lennon to get in behind. Such an easy tactic but it seems to come off 3/4 times a game.

Liverpool has good year under Houiler Eek

We've never seen Bassong play LB at Spurs, so I think we would lose out going forward. Ekotto and Bale are working really well, but I do worry when we are defending 1 goal leads, but recently it seems Harry has been throwing on Peter Crouch to help the siutation. OTOH Kaboul would be great at RB, because he's a combination of Hutton(attacking) and Corluka(defending), however Kaboul's future is at CB, so I don't think he'll be playing at RB much. I think maybe next season, if not then definitely the season after we can expect our back four to look like this,

Walker---Dawson--Kaboul---Ekotto

Im sure Bassong did a bit at left back for the Barcodes. And I actually see him play there with Benni on the bench for Cameroon

hutton gets in lennons way.

corluka played him in like 3 times on saturday.

corluka is far better defensively.

corluka is much better in the air than hutton

Whatever we do, right side is key against Everton. We have to keep Baines pegged back as he has been creating almost all their goals lately.

granted, but teams do like to attack down that side more when Charlie is in the team. It might be unfounded but his lack of pace is seen as a weakness.

I kind of think that they should both keep fighting for the spot as hard as they are though, because I cant remember a bad game that either has had for a long while. They are both improving

Yeah, Bassong played at LB for his first 6 months with Newcastle IIRC.

Now we have 7 CBs, I think Bassong will get more game time for us as a 2nd LB than a 6th CB.

I've also seen Hutton play LB once before in a Carling Cup game and he looked comfortable enough there.
