Fans of Barca and Bayern that follow the team and club as closely as we do Spurs are more or less unified in their praise of his achievements, also in regards to the circumstances both clubs found themselves in when he took over.

Cheap analysis like "he didn't win the treble with Bayern, so he took the club backwards" may well be like saying Poch have taken us backwards, since he hasn't matched Sherwood win percentage in the league.

Whatever you think of his management he seems a pretty decent bloke. Was very gracious in defeat on Sunday.
Strangely, his underlying message seemed to be that he might take 2 - 3 years to get his City team to our level. It's flattering and it may even be true, but I'm guessing it's not what the Sheikh wanted to hear!

According to Rafa Honigstein ( German journalist) the board at Bayern were desperate for him to stay, there are various quotes from board and players to the effect that Guardiola was on a different level as a coach to anything they'd experienced before.

The premier league is not as lop sided as Spain or Germany so genuinely interesting to see how he gets on and adapts. I dont think he will dominate the league in any shape or form though.

Seems like a class act judging on his post match comments. Its nice to see so many top draw managers in the premier league. Its a real competition.

Fans weren't though, or at least a higher percentage than one would expect.

I expect, like Poch for us, he did a lot behind the scenes that presumably goes largely unnoticed by the average fan and he is intelligent and gracious, which is a are trait in football these days... but he will ultimately be judged in Germany as the successor to Heynes and failed to win the CL.

I'm afraid winning the Bundesliga and League Cup, are considered pretty much the minimum at Bayern and whilst I personally don't believe he "failed" at Bayern, that would be crass, but I do think that there is a degree of disappointment amongst the fan base that he was not able to get the team to win those CL semis at least.

So Pep turns up at the Nou Camp without a striker and loses 4-0. Nice one.

Theyve played 3 good teams, and got 1 point from those games. Only decent win they have had is Utd, who are dogpoop

Hoops i like your a hater :D

i think you have a point here, you can be brilliant and really clever, ( or like Avb to clever for your own good) but when you have shit players and have to play to your strengths how does Pep do? does he try and play too perfectly ?

He is one of the best managers in the world at managing good teams with great technical players but could he turn around a poor team with struggling players and keep them up in a relegation battle ? like Rednapp, or Big Sam ?

I kind of like and hate Pep, he is to perfect and he spends way to much on clothing for a man ( see the sun today) i think Klopp annoys me more though.

You can and bet the farm that the stuff he buys is at most comparable to the garish crap that footballers buy, and looks far far better (and is probably made much better as well!).

Thats a fair shout. He looks a damn sight better than Payet in his 1200 pound tracksuit.
