Robbie Keane today admitted he wants to stay at Tottenham for the rest of his career and help Juande Ramos lead the club into a new golden era.

Keane, who joined from Leeds for £7million six years ago, believes the club's Carling Cup triumph brought just the first of many trophies and has never been happier at White Hart Lane.

The 27-year-old signed a new deal last summer to keep him at Spurs until 2012 and believes he will end his career at the club.

He said: “I can't see myself going anywhere or playing for anyone else now. That is why I signed a long-term contract.

“I am more than happy here and I want to stay here for as long as I can. If I keep doing well and the club want me, then I am happy to stay here for the rest of my career.”

Keane, who will start for Spurs alongside Dimitar Berbatov in tonight's first leg of their UEFA Cup tie against PSV Eindhoven, is in the best goalscoring form of his career having already reached 20 for the season.

In December he became the 15th Spurs player to reach the landmark of 100 goals for the club.

His performances earned him the London Evening Standard's Player of the Month award for January, and the only reason he has been handed the accolade so late is because he didn't want to jinx Spurs' chances of beating Chelsea at Wembley last week.

The Irishman believes Spurs have a point to prove following their dismal 4-1 defeat to Birmingham on Saturday and has PSV in his sights.

He said: “Saturday wasn't good enough. It's gone now, but if we are to become a top team we can't be going to Birmingham and losing. It was a blip, but it's only a blip if we do things right against PSV. They are a decent team and they have a lot of experience in European competitions so it will be a tough game.”

So few players these days are one club men so it's really refreshing to find this kind of loyalty and love for a team.

Makes Robbie very special as far as I'm concerned.

I love Robbie Keane, he is my favourite Tottenham oldest player (at the club) just after King.

great lad and has a lot of passion for football and Tottenham. I think he has led the team well as captain when King has been injured, great inspiring and a great player.

Aswell as Keane staying at WHL, I don't want WHL to move! Hopefully a new stadium will be built just next to WHL and we use WHL while the other one is being built. or WHL is expanded, but not sure if expansion is enough...

KEANOO! theres only one Keanooo!

One of the few players over the last 10 years who you can say is a true spurs legend, i dont mean players who play one great season and then move. Robbie Keane is a spurs legend up there with Klinsmann and Teddy

He is up there with Hoddle? I don't think so. He is up there with Ginola, Sheringham, and maybe I hate to say Gascoigne.

I love Keano too! Tottenham legend is what he's fast becomming.

His adoreation for the club really shone through at Wembley - more than any other player.

Here's hoping he does stay, and that Berba stays with him! That's one hell of a partnership!!

After the Carling cup final I am convinced there is still more to come from Keano.

I've always been a critic when it comes to Keane's ball retention, he regularly gives the ball, and therefore posession, away needlessly.
But that final he played with real discipline, no flicks, no irritating dummy, no trying to force the play. His decision making was excellent and he showed the self-control necessary to play at the very highest level.
