well we seem to have been linked to him since before Baldini was at the club so I suspect it was something from Levy's moneyball stats and he'd been on our radar for sometime

I tend to think AVB maybe didn't select him due to his tactics being so isolating to Soldado

Baldini probably had influence in making the deal happen but I doubt it was his suggestion solely anyway as I recall him being on our radar for a good while before Baldini came in

Perhaps the fact that he is totally unsuited to be a lone striker in the PL hasn't helped !

Compare his strengths/weakness against any PL lone striker you rate and he doesn't look too good.

Any lone striker playing in the AVB system would look out of sorts.
Fancy checking Benteke stats for this season.
