Club statement on website. No evidence. Interesting it says either way- neither to corroborate or contradict. Nicely put- polite to Rudiger and we all know that if there is no evidence then we can no longer be accused of it.
Interesting to see what Oliver Holt makes of that.
He will just say that “this must not stop anyone from reporting ............”

felt pretty certain from the start this would be the finding. Racism would certainly be possible but Monkey Chants, nah. Soon as I heard that I thought it was bollocks .. erm sorry, I believed he was mistaken.

Our fans will no doubt (unnecessarily) give him a shit load of abuse now when we play at their place.

It’s done, it’s over, move on.
He doesn’t need to apologise - he obviously thought he heard something and did what players have been told to do in those circumstances.

That said, the media will need to do some grovelling... they won’t though. Will just be accusations of a cover up.

Monkey chants happen - as evidenced by abuse of Sterling.

Seems Spurs have put a statement stating there is no evidence of racism against the boy. Just hope they've had all the relevant authorities review the pictures, i.e. police, PFA, Kick it Out & representatives of the FA. If they have & they've come to the conclusion no evidence then hopefully the media etc. will accept it.

Said the time there was a lot of noise & although I was at that end, but closest to the High Road & I didn't hear anything other than noise, but that's not to say it didn't happen just it was very difficult to discern anything at all.

Not at spurs it’s not something I’ve ever seen in London in my whole life and never at whl (btw as I say in the other post Racism yes plenty just not that type of thing it just isn’t done)

My bad, I thought you were generalising as opposed to being WHL specific.

That said, maybe not monkey chant, but let’s not forget the banana skin incident... Even if he maintained it was “an accident”

Yep I know but believe it or not they are two very different things (even if they may seem related). My kids were embarrassed and distraught when it all happened I confidently told them it would be bollocks as soon as it was said. There is no way that happened at our ground. As for the banana skin I dunno, like I said do I rule out racism occurring name calling etc? absolutely not but what was described by rudiger just no way.

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Right so not misheard but singled out the one person out of 60000 who made a monkey noise?? No your right how could I be so stupid, he is a black man in a stadium full of people of all colours and religions but he zoned in to the 1 maybe 2 people making monkey noises.
You win our whole fan base is racist and we are coving you the whole thing as the cctv in the stadium isn’t plugged in and rudiger is right. No one ever has just made up a claim.
He never said that did he? He said that as a black man who is sensitive to a particular type of abuse, he may be sensitive to hearing certain sounds. For example, as a Jewish person, I will tend to be alert to the word 'Jew' being mentioned perhaps more than references to other religions because I am sensitive to the possibility of anti semitism.

He made the same allegation when Chelsea played Roma a few years ago
