We hate the scum but i reckon 90% of us love Wrighty.

He gets it. We know he hates us, he says so but he’s brutally honest and doesn’t let his bias cloud his thoughts.

It’s the tossers that always have this thinly veiled hatred simmering under the surface giving the impression they are trying to be balanced when we all know they are just ****s that don’t like Tottenham

Also Wrighty should appreciate our current methods it brought him all his success under Graham and the 1-0 to the Arsenal was on the back of Ian Wright sticking away one chance heavily against the run of play

Redknapp said on Sunday, and I'm paraphrasing only slightly, "the only difference between the teams is Son and Kane. You put them in the Arsenal team and it's a different story." The inference seemed to be that Arsenal would have beaten us 2-0 if Son and Kane played for them.

As analysis, I could get that shit off some clown down the pub. "Spurs...they're just Son and Kane innit?" Doesn't take much brainpower to conjure that gem up.

What Redknapp seemed to miss entirely was that it wasn't just down to Son and Kane. Does he really think a Jose defence would have backed off a fella in form and allowed him to shoot completely unchallenged from 20 yards? Does he think that a Jose team would be caught 5 on 2 (or 3 even allowing for Partey)? Our organisation compared to Arsenal's naivety was a major reason for the result on Sunday.

How a man who played the game at the highest level and is paid to talk about it could miss that point and reduce it to an "everyman analysis" beggars belief.
Redknapp's analysis is next level.

I doubt the scum forums have threads saying what a lovely bloke Glenn Hoddle is.

You lot are nuts.

Btw do you not remember that crap chat show he had? As i recall he had a cage full of Spurs fans that he used to mock. This is the guy you're all now wanking over because he said a few nice words about us?

I bet you behind closed doors he's just as big a hater of Spurs as Merson, Groves and the others from his era. I'm not falling for this cuddly image he's now got, he was a despicable little shit-bag on the pitch, that comes from within.

One more thing, i'll have that wank and coke and i'll still feel the same way about him.

What's this? Are you confusing him with @Houdini?

He has a lot more depth to him than being just an ex-footballer that smiles a bit on tv.

Hated him when he played, but can't lie - do love wrighty.

He just seems like a lovely bloke. When you strip the veneer of the caricature you make up in your mind of who the person is based on who they play for, or how they play, and instead focus on the substance, you can appreciate the person for who they are

And this snippet from a documentary provides some insight to who he is...

Much of this - and Ian Wright has intimated as much - came from the broken promises from his biological dad, and being knocked about from a young age by his step-dad - arguably it was a driving force within his game.
Since then he’s grown & matured as an individual, having worked through his anger issues in therapy. I can’t say I was a fan of his when he played, but I am a fan of him nowadays.
For me, any individual who is self aware enough to recognise they need to do work on themselves and then go through the painful therapeutic process of completing that course of action is someone I’ve huge respect for.

Mate, you’ve got issues. He happened to play for a club who are rivals with ours. Despite that he’s a fair pundit, gives Spurs credit where it’s due without pretending he isn’t an arsenal fan. As others have said, he seems like a decent bloke as well. This spurs team aren’t angels on the pitch - the best teams aren’t

Hated Ian Wright when he played for the scum, whilst at the same time (secretly) admiring his astonishing achievements within the game...
Now he’s a pundit I have no problem with him at all. Having grown up in North London I have many gooner pals, so the banter is immense. However, not one of them come close to being as unbiased as Wrighty is when talking about Spurs

I always hated the bastard as a player, he was pure scum....but last year, I watched a heart-breaking documentary on the BBC called 'Home Truths' about his early life and the terrible abuse he suffered at the hands of his mother and stepfather, and you know what, when people open up about such things, you realise that we're all human and we all have our demons, and nowadays, I just don't have it within me to hate him any longer.
