with the title pretty much sewn up, what would be you ideal final standings scenario?

for me it'll be

1. chelsea
2. us
3. manc
4. arsenal
5. manu/pool
6. manu/pool

teams that made CL

For manc, they are rich, could buy anyone either way, missing out or making cl makes no diff to the signings

For arse, Arsene stays, the ticking time bomb continues, paper over cracks

teams that misses out

For manu, first they gotta lose the EL though, so i can continue laughing at mou, never liked him, plays the same exact tactic as fat sam and tony pulis except he has world class attacker so bail him out then hailed as tactical genius (no denying his porto days, though).

For pool, getting cl will make them a hell lot more attractive, with klopp onboard it makes them alot more dangerous in the long run.

Ideal standing is us first... but to play along on the basis of this season...

1. chavs
2. us
3. city
4. ManU
5. pool
6. goons

City and manu can buy anyone they want so being outside of CL wont cause any different.

Pool and goons become less attractive

I'll take anything that sees Arsenal have to play EL football while we enjoy the CL for a few games... I think that means 6th, or 5th if United fail to win the EL.

Both Liverpool and Arse***'s transfer activity will be affected more by falling out of the top 4, in terms of funds available and how attractive they are to prospective singings.

City and Utd will spend big and attract top players irrespective.

Therefore I'd prefer they both finish outside the top 4

1.Chavs
2. Tottenham
3. City
4. Utd
5. Bin dippers
6. Scum

- Liverpool taking a champions league spot gives us better chance of assigned into slot 2 of Champions League group stage draw next year.
- Manchester City requiring to play playoff round of champions league to get their players slightly more tired in early league season.
- Manchester United missing out champions league (assume losing in Europa) to stay miserable and reduce their chance of getting top players this summer.

For Man U to finish in the top 4 they'd really need to beat us in our WHL goodbye game, so for that reason alone I want them to finish 6th (and lose UEFA cup final to Ajax).

Chels
Spurs
Man C
Liverpool
Arsenal
Man U

I want Arsenal in the Europa League. It will ensure they finish well outside the top 4 next season too.

Liverpool in CL I can take. It will derail their league season as they have no squad depth.

This is pretty much what I want to see.

Looks like Wenger is going to stay regardless of how the season pans out, so it would be funny if they failed to get CL.

Though I'd rather Man U finished top 4 at the expense of Liverpool (seeing as they will likely win the EL and qualify for the CL regardless, plus I think Liverpool being back in the CL would be a big deal for them and allow them to push on, possibly at our expense), there's no way I could root for them to get any kind of result at WHL.

Surely the last thing we want is Pool in the top 4? They don't have the draw of the other teams anymore really, so them having the CL as a bargaining chip would definitely appeal to a higher quality of player than they can attract without.

I want us to stay better than them. I think United will struggle for a while with Mourinho there and as we saw last year - they can spend £100m on a player without CL, anyway.

Chelsea, Us, City, United, Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal.

Goons

The past few seasons the Dippers have done worse (domestically) when having to play in europe. It's only when they don't have European games to worry about that they look like cracking the top 4.

Don't care for Chelsea but would seem that they're going to do it. Looks like we're going to take 2nd. That leaves the rest. I like City - so 3rd for them. Man Utd will probably win the Europa League - so 4th would be a good result for us as Arsenal and Liverpool would then be out of the Champions League.

The flip-side is United + Mourinho in the CL will become a force again. And I don't want that to happen. I want Mourinho to go into next season with a seed of doubt in his mind that he's already failed to meet his target to qualify for the CL. Ramps up the pressure, he cracks up and Utd are in meltdown.

Eventually this cycle of them missing out will have an impact. If they don't make it this year that's the third out of four post Fergie seasons they've failed to qualify.

First of all, Spurs finishing as high as possible is obviously the most important thing.

That being said, and it might not make much sense, but I really want man u to be dismantled completely from the club it was under Ferguson. If they miss CL this year they've been out of the tournament for three years, and are rumored to lose some of their Adidas money. I'm hopeful that it might trigger a crisis for them.

Pool is the same, don't want them to start an upwards trajectory.

So as much as it pains me, I hope man c finishes third and gooners finish fourth.

It's true that city and Utd will effectively be unaffected unlike Liverpool and Utd in their spending. That said, I'd hate for mourinho to get anything out of this season now.

So Chelsea, us, City, then its Hobson's choice

Quite fancy Liverpool for 4th now as more likely to struggle in league with Europe - they have this year without it - plus they're ranked below us on coefficient. And they've won nothing else this season.

That said, I hate Liverpool fans. Arsenal might keep wenger if they get CL. But could only tolerate it if they lose FA Cup to Chelsea otherwise they'll have had a better season.

But if Utd lose Europa, I'd love them to be out of champions league for 3rd season in a row: japes.
