Plenty of people have mentioned a situation like this as a warning about wanting Levy and ENIC replaced, but I've never seen any discussion of how people would react to such a scenario.
As i've said before, it's horseshit scaremongering. Beware of the bogeyman. People have no idea one way or the other who any prospective new owner might be. They might be squillionares wanting to spunk billions but that doesn't ever get suggested because it doesn't suit the bullshit argument. They might even be pikeys wanting to spunk hedgehog gold and the proceeds of 100 years of selling lucky heather, nobody knows.

One day ENIC will sell, wether the fans want them to or by choice its all the same. Or are we to believe the peddlers of this fable will be protesting their arses off for ENIC to stay lest they fill their panties out of terror?

But to answer your question, i'd still support the club :D

I agree that nobody knows what might happen if and when ENIC decide to sell up, and personally I find it unlikely that they would sell to someone like Tan. I'm just interested in seeing what the reaction would be in this hypothetical scenario. It isn't a 'better the devil you know' thread, as to be perfectly honest I'd probably be quite excited (at least initially) if the news broke tomorrow that ENIC had found a buyer.

Cardiff City fans huffed and puffed when Tan changed their kit to red, then changed their badge, but after he retorted that he'd happily take his money and leave them to their debts the majority soon shut up.

There was enough gnashing of teeth when Levy tried to get the club to move to Stratford, so I'd like to see how people would react if someone tried to make sweeping changes to the club's identity by changing the kit colour, badge, and name.

Tyrant ?

No one moaned when A.M.S swanned in under a cloak of darkness and guarantees which turned into a nice pretty fortune in profits.

Didn't Shakespeare quote

What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;

However. He never watched Danny Rose

I would admittedly love it.

I actually love it on here atm. It actually reminds me of the days of mediocrity. Massively liberating. Expecting the worst, any good result is a party, no days away after a loss because of the poisonous depression that engulfed this place.

We expect to lose so we've become desensitised to losing which makes this place pure comedy. I'm in a really good mood today, I mean really good. I just can't belive it after a 4-0 loss. Btw anyone who hasn't seen the joey From bread thing, see it now. Hilarious.

of course i want us to be successful but there are some advantages to being a middle of the road team without pressure.

In this doomesday scenario as outlined
I would switch to actually supporting my nearest local teams.
In my case Real Madrid
and Algete Under 10's the team one of my grandchildren plays for
where I already spend several hours every week.
I would still watch Spurs on the internet out of lifelong interest
but cease to be a proper Spurs fan
out of respect to the memory of the once mighty Spurs until the new owners
gave way to a more enlightened regime which respected the traditions and history of the club.
Then I'd be back, if I'm still alive, which is unlikely
But I've enjoyed it, in the main. most of the time.
The last six months has been the worst time for decades.

They would never sell to someone without money. They wouldn't take the risk.

Bottom line is they have pretty spent nothing at at Spurs so a 5 to 600 milliion return is pretty good.

Gotta get that planning permission for the flats first though.

Right at this moment, it would be something of another straw on a pretty rickety camels back for me. I hate saying that, i feel like a traitor, but with the situation at the club, the state of the Premier League, this culture of diving, the petty politics... i'm just getting fed up with it all.

Sure, if Spurs started performing a bit less like a Sunday League side i'd probably chirp up in no time and forget all about this slump but as it stands, i'm really losing interest in league football recently.

So internationals bore me, domestic games make me sad, european games feel pointless - footballs really letting me down right now, so if some shitrag dictator owner came in i'd likely just focus more on cricket or something until i felt the urge to dip my toe back in the water.

The old days were good though. After 1990 we had 2 teams to support. 96 was great. Then the massive comedown.

We are below Russia and Qatar in ability to host a WC.

Depends how much money he spends on the team. If he's a super rich billionaire similar to the guy who owns City, I'm not sure I would care too much.

If it was someone like Vincent Tan Id more than likely walk away.
If it was someone like the City owner id stick around but any League or Cup silverware would feel hollow and i wouldn't feel proud of the team.

Why would it feel hollow? If more and more teams get owners such as Chelsea and City - this becomes the norm. It's not like we are buying the league anymore. It would just be catching up.
