ELY is right. Harry has topped out, but his topping level is higher than any other Prem manager we've had. Allardyce has by far the most expensive squad in the Championship and still plays dire football that isn't actually putting them where their budget would suggest they should be, and the fans hate him. Even referencing McLeish reflects rather badly on your mentality as a fan, to compare how he operates to what Harry has done at our club, the mind boggles.

The end of the season is the ideal time to say goodbye, hopefully he can raise the players and subvert his tactical tourettes for long enough to see us to 4th.. which would be a good end to a great tenure. Sacking him is pure Abramovichian madness of course.. there's a max of 7 games left..

I have already apologised for that and you are absolutely right, there is no way that Harry should be sacked now.

I do think that behind closed doors,he should be excluded from picking the players and the system for the games we have left.
He can still do the team talks and can walk away gracefully at the end of the season with his head held high.

This, the only thing setting Harry apart from previous managers is scraping past Man City to qualify for the Champions League 2 years ago.

Who was in charge of them?

Mark Hughes.................enough said.

I think we had a better team than them - that may have more to do with it.

Didn't Jol get sacked precisely because he couldn't do this. Now Redknapp is going to get the bullet because it wasn't that big a deal after all. Make your mind up. :)

I didn't agree with the way Jol was sacked but it was the correct decision IMO. Its obviously a big deal, and if we do implode completely given our position 8 weeks ago - yes I think he should go.

The point I was really trying to make is the way things are presented sometimes. The connotation I resent is this Harry took us from the bottom of the League to Champions League. Yes he did get us CL, which was a great achievement, and whilst we were bottom of the League when he came in - its not like we were Wolves or somebody, and he transformed a Club of that size to a top four finisher.

It would of been different had we been use to languishing around the bottom of the League before he came in, like for a few seasons...but the truth is there were decent foundations at the Club, it was just in a nose dive with Ramos at the time.

Pardon my enthusiasm but if we finish in CL place and win the FA cup I will be cockafucking hoop.
We haven't had a sniff of the Cup for the lifetime of quite a few members on here and we haven't had a sniff for good reason, because we ain't been good enough, win it and we prove we are good enough and we show we are back big time and bugger that, it's the FA Cup why would I not be cockahoop. I'd be chuffed as nuts even if we won it and came fifth and I'd say well done Harry old chap.

I wouldn't, well mixed emotions. To not finish fourth from the position we were in is just incredibly depressing and its the implications that brings, like losing certain players a lot quicker and losing the appeal to attract the ones we need to be attracting.

So in short, I wouldn't be saying well done Harry old chap.

If we had mantained our 13 point gap of Arsenal I still wouldn't have been over impressed with Harry but I doubt I would have said that too loudly if at all.
It's hard to compare seasons but Arsenal and Chelsea really aren't the forces that they were, incidentally we've suffered our heaviest defeat against Arsenal since the 5-0 in 1978,we could still finish 3rd win the FA cup i will be over the moon but I'd want a new manager.
It would be the best thing if he went off to the England job but I'm concerned about his legacy at this club, which may not be all his fault and perhaps DL wasn't forthcoming, but there's a hel of a lot of our squad that needs replacing who could soon be over the hill, if we get a CL place then that will make things easier and I'm sure most managers would be able to sign a top striker under those conditions.

It's so delicately balanced at the moment. We could be on the verge of our best ever Premier League season by finishing top 4 and winning the FA Cup. Yet we're doing our best to turn it into the most disappointing season in Premier League history. Even though we've had worse seasons than this one, considering where we have been for much of the season and the talent we have it would be a massive disappointment to miss out on top 4 and get no silverware as well.

I try to remain positive as much as possible but i'm afraid i've really lost hope now. Monday's game really dented my optimism.

I would be happy with 4th and the cup win of course, but i will still be so disappointed about the way we fell appart at the most important time of the year again. something that cannot happen year on year out. we want to be a top 4 club but we play with a small club mentality. Arsenal as much as we all hate them have done wonders second half of the season, dragged back by the scruff of their necks RVP and Verm, this inspired the rest of the team around them, we need exactly the same, characters who are willing to grab it by the balls and win, like Bale and Lennon did 2 seasons ago.

If we were to win our remaining games of the season and still finish 4th i will be happy cause it will have been turned around and the boys would have shown the character needed!! I dont want to see us scrape it by Chelsea floudering.

The one thing that gives me real hope is the line up we saw on Monday shouldn't be repeated again this season. Gallas, Parker, VDV and Adebayor will be starting all of the remaining League games providing they don't get injured.

Do you think so?

Teams:
Man City: Fulop; Zabaleta, Toure, Kompany, Bridge; Adam Johnson, De Jong, Barry, Bellamy; Tevez, Adebayor.
Subs: Nielsen, Richards, Onuoha, Wright-Phillips, Santa Cruz, Sylvinho, Vieira.
Tottenham: Gomes; Kaboul, Dawson, King, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Huddlestone, Modric, Bale; Crouch, Defoe.
Subs: Alnwick, Bentley, Jenas, Pavlyuchenko, Palacios, Gudjohnsen, Bassong.

But will they be squeezed into a 4-4-2?
