You mentioned watching a paid for foriegn commentary, i probably misunderstood your point evidently..
I think he was saying he'd rather do that than pay for Sky and BT, rather than that's what he actually did.

I see, my point was I would pay to watch Premier League football on TV for a fair price in a foreign languageahead of paying for Sky.

But as that isn't an option I stream Sky or BT.

Apple....runs like a dream...though maybe pc's are in danger
Apple OSX is a unix-like (BSD) operating system. Similar to linux that I was suggesting earlier. Unix-like systems are not as prone to safety concerns as windows boxes for many reasons, some due to the nature of the OS and also because they are less targeted than the 800lb gorilla that is windows due to marketshare.

Basically all the younger generation stream football, it's only some of the older generation that don't know how to live stream that are propping up Sky Sports, there will come a time when basically every man and his dog know how to easily stream football games and that's when the EPL financial bubble will burst IMO..

hard to find good streams that don't require that, though
possibly. but ublock origin and umatrix have "anti-adblock killer" and "adblock warning removal" lists that alleviate this problem. Plus i guess you just need to know who to ask for good, "perfectly legal" streams. I hear PMs help;).

And seriously think about a "live linux" disc or USB key. I cannot recommend highly enough.

there was a report recently that said kids now spend more time watching stuff online than watching TV - http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/35410127

so I can see a progressive change away from conventional viewing in the years to come, the likes of Sky, BT and Virgin Media will need to cater for this

currently the bill payer still watches normal TV on the sofa, but that will change
Yeah, kids spend more time watching stuff online because of youtube and movie downloads and many will be on a sofa with a tablet or laptop. People who want to watch sport will still always want to sit on a sofa, even if it is driven by internet TV and a computer, the screen will still be in front of a sofa I would've thought. Who wants to watch football on their computer on an office chair? I think when they talk about 'away from their sofa' they mean 'away from their homes' so they're providing mobile viewing. Dunno about you but there's only one place I want to sit at home to watch matches and its not the computer desk.

As much as sky annoys me, if they made all 3pm games available on match choice like the Champions League was then I'd defo pay for it

USB key? And why are you recommending Linux in relation to streaming?
Live USB distro...read-only FS...non-persistence in relation to exactly what this thread was all about ie malicious code on streaming sites. And why wouldn't someone recommend linux in relation to ANYTHING computer related (That is rhetorical I am not really interested in an answer)? Seems an odd question and particularly oddly phrased.

Never gonna happen. You don't even get more than 2 games for mid week rounds which seems like a big joke when the Saturday 3pm blackout obviously doesn't apply. It seems like its got nothing to do with the blackout at all, they just don't want to show you too much football for some reason, apparently. Thank fuck I don't live in the UK.

Yeah, I thought you were talking about the ads and obviously they would still be an annoyance on any platform, but yes, obviously with Linux you would not get the malicious code attacks.

I pay £7 every 2 months for all sports channels in hd including boxing (no ads either)

I also have BT sport 4k which I only got as I have a 4K TV.

The comment about older people not being able to find and use safe streams obviously didn't apply to me. If it's out there, I will usually find it.

I remember many years ago finding one of our games on a Chinese channel on a little screen that couldn't be enlarged. How things have changed.

I use Zenmate as my VPN and then stream via Chrome, usually works even with the adblocker switched on.
That said, I'd happily pay £10-15 per month to watch all our games properly.

I don't think we're allowed to post links (are we?).
Anyway, I have on my computer a program called Malware Bytes and if I have to use a stream, I run this after and it often finds dodgy adware that has been installed onto my web browser and then deletes it for me.

If you do a search for: ' malwarebytes free home version '

you should find it.
