I think Clinton coming back for us could be really massive - he will be fresh and ready (I hope) and he gives us serious pace which when you are up against players who coming up to the end of the season will all be shattered will give us a real weapon to call upon.

I hope you are right but I suspect not. If no injury, he should have been fighting for a starting position by now. Instead, he is set months back in getting into the system of Poch, and I would be surprised there is time for him to get into the swing of things.
I'd love to see him playing a bit, though.

Sadly, if a fit player needs loads of time to be ready, then we can't expect an injured player to be ready.

#thfc Poch says Dier picked up a 'knock'. Looked more like a groin strain to me.
I call bullshit on that, if that's the case why did he play him the full 90? It would be extremely idiotic for him to do so if that's the case.

Losing Dier right now when we have Bournemouth, Liverpool and United would be catastrophic for us because no other player can step in and do what he does.

I get that we want Poch to announce phantom injuries to stop players going on international duty but the players will not want that so close to the euro

Dier wasn't moving great at the end of the game, moved into the Central CB of 3 pretty much...but we'd used all our subs...hopefully a a knock and not a muscular injury...

He pulled up after we'd made all three subs...

I think if they can make it seem believable it wont harm their chances of going to the Euro's.

He seemed to be running fine at the end of the game.

Could it be that he is one yellow off a suspension and after 31st March, the number of yellows before a ban increases?

He's actually one yellow away from a two match ban and still has to negotiate Bournemouth, Liverpool and Manu.

Cater-Vickers thought to be out for the rest of the season, said by Poch to be next in line to play CB if we had more injuries. Good news that Vertonghen is close to a return then

Jan coming back is excellent news if Dier is injured/knackered - he might not like it too much but he'd be the obvious choice to exactly replicate Dier's role in the midfield for a few games.
