Surely the best thing to do is give him U23s minutes and bring him on late in games that we've sewn up. It's not as if we've got a wealth of options on the bench to choose from anyway.

As I say both the coaching and medical teams are of the opinion he is ready and has been for a while. I know only Lamela can say if he feels 100%, but the fact is he may never get to the point where he feels how he was pre injury. If what you are saying is correct then there has to come a point where you trust the professionals, because they know this stuff inside out.

That said it's not uncommon that players who have had such long standing and difficult injuries struggle with the fact that one tackle could bring all that back again.

Poch just needs to name him on the bench then and see what happens. If he doesn't turn up then bye bye. He needs to break through the barrier. Even 10 seconds on the pitch doing nothing but running around not even touching the ball might help.

This is a better idea. Give him a sub appearance in an under 23 game. Getting on the pitch in a match type situation might be good for him.

I'm not sure what all this fuss about lamela is about. Dudes been injured for a year, give him a minute. All this talk about getting rid is mindboggling, he was easily one of our best players before injury.

Sorry to hear that, @Lemon, and I wish you every success with it.

Thanks, family friend is a recently retired tribunal judge, he offered to 'set me on the right path' and told me that I have a 'very strong case', settled the nerves a bit :)

Still scary though as I'm self representing.

With Poch's 'you sign to train' repeated declaration, it's not that simple (though I agree getting him on a pitch would probably help no end, but U23 not first team). If you attempt to play a player who is declaring themselves unfit it is very, very dangerous.

I agree, though I think Poch's man-management style would lend itself to not forcing Lamela out there if Lamela had a huge issue with it. It could just be that Poch needs to slowly ease him in - perhaps that's all Lamela needs (and wants).

Right. It's likely the most serious, time consuming injury he's ever head in his career.
You're bound to feel a bit weary to re-enter the premier league right away were our players are continuously hacked away at by lesser brutes

He knows he needs to get back on the Field soon to earn another contract here or elsewhere

Jesus Christ. Not sure representing yourself is a good idea-nothing personal.

I found out some very interesting stuff about employment law earlier in the year. Made me feel a lot more secure.

I’m sitting in Starbucks next to a couple of Real Madrid fans. They’re speaking In some kind of code. Occasionally I hear them say Tottingham. I think they know about this thread and avoiding being quoted.

It would help if I posted this in the right thread!

Just wink knowingly and say "Scorchio".
